The media embargo on the Gladiator details was lifted at midnight Eastern.

All the automotive YouTube channels should have reviews up with initial impressions from a media event.

2020 Jeep Gladiator | Part Jeep, Part Truck

Jeep's web page should be updated soon, but AoA has the following pricing for 6 speed manual trucks:

Sport $33,545
Sport S $36,745
Overland $40,395
Rubicon $43,545

A Launch Edition will be $60,815, and loaded up Rubicons can hit that $60k price point as well.

It has to do with cooling and the biggest radiator they can stuff in it that results in that.

Pricing as well as reviews are out.

Jeep Gladiator Rubicon vs. Chevy Colorado ZR2 - 2019 Off-Road Truck Comparison

I think the Ram Rebel will clear 35s. I'm positive the Power Wagon will.

And the Power Wagon is only a foot longer than the Gladiator.

You're correct, but I was referring to the midsize competition.

Quoted:

What does "minimal mods" translate to, and how does that compare to the competition?

Now account for the fact that the Gladiator is almost guaranteed to be more expensive than its peers. Dollar for dollar, how hard would it be to put a Colorado or Ranger on similarly large tires?

I don't have a dog in this fight, but from where I sit on the outside looking in, it looks like the Gladiator is at somewhat of an offroad disadvantage due to the wheelbase.
View Quote
How to fit 35" tires-

Jeep
Pull off factory tires, put on 35s

Tacoma
-Fender Cutting
-Cab mount chopping
-Firewall hammering
-Correct wheel back spacing
-3"+ lift

Ranger
""

Colorado/Canyon
""

I don't know if there is anything standardized for the Ranger and GM twins, as they don't have anything close to the aftermarket and online community support that Toyota does.

The Gladiator is shorter than the LWB Tacoma. The long bed's shortcomings, compared to the short bed is the TacomaWorld equivalent of 9mm vs 45.

Basically, the Gladiator's length, compared to other trucks in class, is a non issue. It's completely overshadowed by all of the advantages it will have.

For what? It's a light duty pickup and off-roader.

Just because your pointless SRT-10 novelty truck had 500+ HP doesn't mean it would serve any practical purpose whatsoever in something like the Gladiator.

The Pentastar makes more than enough power for a vehicle of that type, and I would guess the overwhelming majority of people who buy it will rarely break 4k RPMs anyways.

Well you need the 500+ HP so you can break shit in really inconvenient places.   Helps get that CG up too.

Have you looked at JKU/JLU pricing?

Those can and do sell into the $50k range for Rubicons and Saharas. They start mid-$30k range for pretty basic models.

Now add a bed and account for the fact that these will have even more of a cool factor, and yeah, a bunch of these are going to sell in the $50k range.
View Quote
I really wonder how many of the Rubicons will sell. Just looking around at what's available only 10% or so of the current Wrangler Unlimited stock in the state are Rubicons. (Side note: a total of 5% of Wrangler Unlimited are sold with the manual)

I think the sweet spot will be the models in the 35-40k range, the current hot spot of mid sized trucks. Some sacrifices will need to be made in options to get there, but it will still have a nice niche compared to the competition in that range.

Rubicons and raptors are everywhere in my town, but that 10% figure is probably accurate. They are just attention grabbers, compared to lower trim Jeeps and trucks.
