The fact that the chicken hawk is a protected species is retarded.....that is all.

Looked like he was saying "Come at be bro!" I killed this motherfucking chicken and I'll be damn if you don't let me have it.

Sorry for the loss of the Chicken, but as mentioned, it's a bird of prey and the chicken is the prey, so!

Thanks for sharing, glad the Hawk was good to go, they're beautiful birds.

Anyone with more than one chicken didn't come by it honestly.  The hawk was just trying to get what he deserved.

He heard about his "Obama Chickens" and figured he'd help himself, that Chicken won't be coming home to roost anytime soon!

Possum hawks are dangerous....just stick your hand down there if you don't believe me.

Whilst i have not personally had any runins twixt my chickens and the local possum hawks, the neighbors tell me "what happens off camera, STAYS off camera."

That being said, i have no personal knowledge of any possum hawks having ever been harmed in the "not" filming of a video.

That is the back door to the barn. The fence keeps the chickens out of the barn. I don't want them shiting on my jeep.

I had only read about it, I had never actually seen it - cool video.

I started wondering that too, good on OP for not touching it! You never know what that guy might have done, I didn't like the look in it's eyes!

It should be legal to kill anything that attacks your livestock.

And yet it is NOT.  I have chickens, geese, turkeys, ducks and there is NOTHING you can do when a hawk attacks.  I will not even joke about SSS.  the wildlife guys have incredible search/siezure powers.

Funny, when I saw a red tailed hawk do this 'freeze' and subsequently run over by an off duty officer, I was told repeatedly that no hawk would ever do that.

No proof the hawk killed the chicken. Perhaps the hawk was simply enjoying a nap on a comfy dead chicken when you tried to anally violate it with a shovel

"Wut?"

all he got out of it is a guinea with a bad leg now...

losing a few chickens a week right now... they have evn been bombing the chicken house. chickens are all freaked out and not laying at all

I get to watch Redtail's hunt all day in the RR yard I work in.  Grain hoppers drop grains of all sort on the rail, pigeons swarm the grain, Redtails hunt from atop light poles and riding thermals above the yard.  They strike out of no where, then drag the pigeon away and eat the breast out or fly it to the top of a telephone pole and get to chowing.  I even saw one trying his damnedest to drag a racoon across five tracks to a dead area of the yard.  Guy could barely get it off the ground.  He had a hell of a time eating that big ass meal.

Some damn good times watching those birds...
