I'd take one at dealer mentioned price point.

ETA: on the above pic: 2, 3, 1 and 4 at the same time.

This.  Without receivers or barrels or 922r compliance parts it isn't of much use.  We'll have to see if someone puts these together.  Century?

Thank you for the kind words!
We all try our best to take good care of our customers.
I enjoy meeting people at Knob Creek, just sometimes I don't get a chance to visit for long because we are busy.

Century is building CETME C's now, called the C308 using a PTR supplied receiver.
They are not going to build CETME L's (5.56X45) because APEX has secured ALL the kits that were imported.
I have already started working with GMRB on barrels.
We have been contacted by companies who are considering flats, jigs and receivers.

We want these to come together as semi-auto rifles, I want to own one as do many of the other people here at APEX.
I am sure my customers want this rifle to happen.
We just have to get the right companies to tackle the parts.

Richard

Sorry if it's been asked earlier, but what's the ETA on the kits?

At $200 I'd be comfortable dropping the money on a kit that has no foreseeable barrel, receiver or 922r compliance parts even available to assemble said rifle.
At $300 I feel it would be a waste of money and would not purchase, until such time the needed support to assemble this kit is available

What do we actually need to do, to get this turned into a real rifle?

Looking at the L and the CL, it almost looks like the same hand guard/front sight post on both and just barrel cut down...and of course the collapsible stock.  Can anyone confirm?

If I can build a CL sbr I'm incredibly interested.  The L itself only moderately excites me.

I'll be on this like a bum on a bologna samitch!  I hope NDS makes the flat...

And just for the shit of it, I hope APEX goes after these.

The kit/gun in the OP, I'd buy a couple of, just because they look neat.

If they can get the ameli, I'd do my damnedest to buy several.

If Ameli's were tendered/available thru an importer APEX would be doing its best to secure them all for our customers!

However, the Ameli is still a current issue front line Squad level MG, and so they won't be surplus yet.

The CETME L is only available because Spain is buying the HK G36.

Richard

I care nothing for your excuses.  Belt fed goodness, now!

I am leaning towards doing an "Introductory Sale" on the CETME "L" kits to get a good number of them out into the hands of collectors/shooters/manufactures.
However, pricing isn't set nor are any other details.

I expect some companies that provide barrels, flats, receivers, jigs, etc will figure out the rest of the "picture" on these CETME "L" and will offer those items for sale.
There are some very clever folks around that come up with good solutions.
APEX is neither a manufacturer or a gun dealer, I don't employ any gunsmiths!
Our specialty is customer service and finding the best goods for our customers.

I'm intrigued and will keep an eye on this.  If the kits are reasonably priced for the risk of no US parts, I could see getting one.

It's a stamped receiver, so there'd need to be new stamping dies made to make them.  Pretty expensive up front.  My big reservation is the price of a HK build - these should be pretty similar so the talent pool is there but HK builds are pretty retarded in price compared to other types.  Maybe if an outfit tooled up to do a huge run en masse it could be affordable.

Also makes me think of the Assault Rifle 1946 weapon from Wolfenstein: The New Order.
