Sans barrel and receivers, I might go for one of these for $100.

I predict many will pass on these kits.
Then they will kick themselves later. |

I would rather have one of these than a Galil ACE in 5.56 if/when it ever hits our shores.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CETME_Model_L Sounds interesting but without barrels or receivers, not interested. Would also have to pay someone to assemble, then find 922r parts. View Quote |

Any idea on the price? Will the collapsing stocks be obtainable?

Should be close to building a HK93/33/C93. I'm gonna guess a barrel for the C93 will work, same goes for compliance parts, trigger pack and US mags are 3 parts too, so compliance parts should not be an issue. That leaves the receiver. Without having parts in hand, again I'm guessing a semi C93 receiver could be used with the Cetme L parts grafted to it, sights, tube, mag well. I'll get one, but I'll farm it out. This will go good in my collection with my Cetme C, HK91 and C93. View Quote The receiver & bolt carrier aren't even remotely the same shape as an Hk 33/93. These will require someone making new, specific parts. |
|
The C93/HK33 kit builds look way better and the C93's are relatively cheap already built.
In the 90s a gun guy would give his left nut for an HK93, or a clone if any existed, and nowadays they barely get much attention. ARs got more versitile and more options pretty much leaving the less versitile 223 guns bite the dust from enthusiasm. The CETME L is a little on the ugly side. |

Sounds awesome, but without receivers and barrels...what's the point? View Quote Keep telling everyone that. Every kit that's ever come in, in any quantity, has eventually been supported with the necessary components to build. Every one. But by time that support arrived, the kits either sold out or rose exponentially in price. I've learned my lesson. I'll buy cheap kits for guns I'd like to have and either wait for the parts or sell the kits on gunbroker to the people who asked "what's the point?" a couple years from now for 3x what I paid. |

Richard/Apex,Thanks for giving us an update. Will any LC models be coming in?Thanks

I wonder how soon Tapco will come out with an Intrafuse stock system for it?
Looks like it needs and AR buffer tube stock or two on it. |

The "L" has a well in the butt that the drive spring slides into. All I know right now is that the first shipment is all the L model. The TAPCO Intrafuse comment made me laugh! TAPCO is owned by the Remington Outdoor Products Group now. I will be visiting with them at Shot Show and will have to ask! Keep an eye on the APEX section of the "Industry" area for updates and SALES info! http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_2/655_APEX_Gun_Parts.html Richard |

Probably locking pieces, push pins and some fire control group parts. |

The current APEX web site doesn't support CUSTOMER accounts and so there is no e-mailings of new products, newsletter, etc. That will come with the new web site that we are working on now. I actually don't know (I forgot) the total number of these kits that we purchased. The first shipment is certainly enough quantity that manufacturers will be wanting to make/sell the parts needed to complete these as a semi-auto. Also, I sure didn't know that an AR stock adapter already exists! Richard |

Looks interesting. The build process is probably too much for me to handle.
Just wondering, how do you mount optics on these? |

Credit card is at the ready. Thanks for getting these Apex!
I am getting a little bored with all the AK kits I have built from you guys. Time for something new! |

I'm sure Century will buy up most of the kits and put out a quality product
