They must have been 105s because 155s and 203s are separate loading and don't use a case for obturation.

I'm sure you guys are right, they look like really big spent pistol cases. At some point I hope to get them and the rest of Dad's stuff.

Haha my dad made lamps out of a couple of spent 105 casings.

I'm sure you guys are right, they look like really big spent pistol cases. At some point I hope to get them and the rest of Dad's stuff.


I used to have a 5-inch powder casing but my father threw it away when I went to college. Took it off the USS Kinkaid years ago after they fired the guns on a towed target.  Came from the aft mount.  I wish I still had it.
