Not a brag thread.
50 x 2 in the morning. 50 x 2 before sleep. Why do I still have tits? |

If you count pushing myself up out of bed, then the answer is 1.

You still have tits because you can't spot reduce fat.
You can't do enough crunches to get abs. You can't do enough push ups to lose the moobs. You CAN lose enough fat to do both, though. |
|
100 push-ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats and a 10 km run.
My hair has almost completely fallen out. |

I'm working on it, trying to better myself. I'm up to 45 in a row, doing that every day this week. Next week, I'll push it to 50. Little increments.
Working on pull-ups as well, just trying to make some headway in my upper body. Dropping some weight as well. While we're on the subject, I hear a lot about plateauing at like 50-60 in a row, where after that point you're just working endurance and not strength. Anything to that? And if so, what's the best course of action? More sets of fewer reps? |
|
My wild ass guess would be 20 on average. The warm ups at my gym usually incorporate some kind of push up and sometimes the workout does, too. Today we did 40 x 2 as part of the warm up.

At that point you're wasting your time if you continue to do bodyweight. |

Can't remember the last time I did one, last tub of ice cream was breakfast.

None. I ripped something in my shoulder doing them so I quit. I can do other exercises but push ups hurt like a burning fire deep inside my shoulder.

I am 6'1 and I weigh about 180 lbs.
I can hang in Masters 45+ crits. I just dont like having tits. |
|
I do mine on my back, on a bench, with a metal rod with metal plates on the ends.

View Quote In the realm of strictly doing push up, try doing max sets once you reach a plateau. 2 sets doing as many as absolutely possible without worrying about time. Even if it means doing one at time and resting (without breaking form). Rest 4-5 minutes between sets. Do this a couple times per week. Worked for me. Maxed 114 on a pst. |

Zero. I've known too many guys who hurt their shoulders doing high-volume pushups.
Instead, I bench press, do various one-arm presses, etc. High weight, low reps. As for the moobs, ever hear that saying, "Abs are made in the kitchen?" Same goes for moobs. |
|
routine is;
10 min running 100 situps 50 pushups Rinse repeat 3x |

I have moobs but they are nice and firm! Not saggy and sad.
And 200 push-ups a day are cardio, not resistance training. |

I suck at remembering. I'd like it to be ten sets of 30. Most days I remember at least 6 or 7 sets.
I stopped doing "PRT pushups" a while ago. Only full ROM, pause at top and bottom. It cuts the number I can do about in half. |
|
Fucking Zero since orthoscopic on each shoulder 5 years ago.
I made up for it as a young soldier, I probably still have a 35/day average. |
