Once a week I go for max, usually 65-75. Part of a warmup actually.

Look up the 100pushup workout, it's a straightforward pgm to get to 100. After I accomplished that I started doing it daily, which led to shoulder pain. So now it's a weekly thing.

Everything in moderation.

Why would I do pushups every day?

I do 100 about once every two weeks lately, mostly to strengthen my injured serratus and focused on that muscle.

I disagree with those who say it's a bad movement, you don't get good serratus activation on the bench and they make a huge difference on a heavy bag.

I've figured it out by turning my hands out as far as possible and then opening my legs as wide as possible to get the balancing down. The feeling to me is like a really hard straight bar chest dip.

I'm 47, 6'5" and have weighed 200 +/-5lbs for over 20 years. Most of that time in the Military where I had to work out. But even now that I'm retired and driving a truck, I still haven't gained weight.

I had a client in jail that got beat up by a black muslim gang, and he was telling me about how they work out every day.  They made their own little gym out of prison stuff, using water as weight, etc.  Unfortunately he committed suicide shortly afterwards.  I thought it was odd there was a muslim gang in a completely white rural area.  I'll try to stay out of there.

Truth. As we all know "gym strength" doesn't correlate to real strength. We've been told this by non lifters on arfcom many times.


They all have friends who bench 315 for reps that can't pick up one end of a sofa. It's that damn gym strength!

My right wrist is damaged, if I start doing pushups it start a screaming for me to go fuck myself with stabbing pain. I can do a set here and there and get away with it... but if I really start trying to get into shaped again by day three my wrist is telling me im done.  I really ought to get some free weights or something. I hate being a fraction of my former self. (Psyhically)

Seems like maybe it could be possible to get big but with like thousands and thousands of reps a day. Kind of like how cyclists can get really big legs-
