If that was me (and someone else had to buy my groceries for me) I'd be clinging to those $140 dollars like my life was dependent on it.

Try and get some help man. These are poor decisions compounded on poor decisions

A story like reads like someone was charismatic/manipulative enough to get you to support their drinking habit. Normally not really that big of a deal or uncommon. It becomes a scam/manipulative when you run out of money doing it.

Well, debt finally caught up with me. I make 70k a year, have a career, but don't have a dollar. I'm paying back 1200 a month to my 401k loan (last payment will be in march), and I have 12k in cc debt. I got paid Friday, and had 140$  left a few hours later after paying my bills. I drank that 140$ last night. Someone bought groceries for me, if it wasn't for that I'd have no food either. So, anybody have any weekend job opportunities in San Antonio? No, no weird shit, I'm not that desperate.

Stop drinking, learn to shop at Walmart for economical groceries.  Are you alone?  If so, I can assure you, you can survive on that salary.

HD and Lowes are always looking for workers and my local walmart has an entire shift of night workers that stock the shelves.

Sorry to hear that man.  Hang in there.

Not gonna shit on you by pointing out the obvious.

Not sure how to raise a few bucks quickly other than selling something.  College kids around here sometimes donate plasma or do medical studies.  Even 20 years ago when I was in college the studies paid like $2800 for two weekends.  Basically you take a pill Friday night or Saturday morning.  They draw your blood many times over the weekend and you are out Monday morning.  One weekend is the real pill, the other weekend is either a generic version or placebo.  You don't know which. That wouldn't help you out THIS weekend though and I don't know what's available in your area.

It sounds like you need to seriously re-evaluate your life.  It will take help.  You won't be able to do it on your own.  I'm not sure who can help you, but you need to find that person.  Listening to a podcast or reading a book won't do it.  You need to open up to someone that will hold you accountable.  It's good that you opened up here.  We're strangers but it's better than nothing. Admitting and owning up to it are the first steps.

If you're serious about fixing your finances, be prepared to buckle down for a few months or a year and cut your expenses.  Nobody in your shoes likes to hear that, but you dug yourself into a hole, get ready to dig yourself out.  I'd consider the following:

Increase your income.  If your job allows overtime, volunteer for it.  If you have the energy for it, get a side job.  Perhaps sell some things that you no longer need.  Are you a veteran?  If so, talk to your pick of veterans organizations and see if you qualify for any disabilities.

Cut your expenses.  Comb through your last 2-3 months of CC statements and bank statements and see where your money is going.  Start cutting out things you don't need.  Drinking at bars and eating out are a no go for starters.  If you absolutely have to drink, buy a bottle and drink at home.  That or stick to a couple beers of whatever is cheap at the bar.  Have expensive hobbies?  Give it a rest for a while.  Find some cheaper hobbies to hold you over.

If you can't manage what I've mentioned, you've probably got a bankruptcy in your future.  Your credit will be wrecked for a while and you might lose some assets, but sometimes it is the only choice.

I hope you're exaggerating some of your story because if you stay on this track, you are never going to be able to afford to retire or generate any wealth in your lifetime.
