OP if you keep that baby kitten he will be your best buddy for its life
i've been told "bottle babies" make wonderful cats because they don't learn any cat behaviors from their mother or siblings they think they're little people i've also heard they take on dog behaviors if raised with a dog hopefully he makes it and you keep him |

Hard to tell, but it looks like it has black tiger coloration, which is cool.

Good luck! My best friend in the whole world was a little orange kitten that my wife and I bottle fed.

That's a little cutie, good luck! I have a rescue sleeping in my lap as I type this. And another one pacing around looking for something to kill

Tagged. I'm reading this thread sitting on the bed next to our two black cats we adopted from stray litters in our neighbor's barn. They're a year apart but we're 99% certain they are siblings. They hit it off immediately when we introduced the younger one.
Good on you OP. Hope the little trash kitten makes it. |

If you start them out while they're kittens, you can teach them to walk on a leash. Funniest thing I ever saw but it really does work.
Get one of the harnesses that goes around the front legs and chest and start training him once he starts racing around. Hook a leash up and train him, cats get the hang of it just like dogs. |

We raised several small kittens. That one looks old enough to start opening its eyes in a couple days but it is difficult to tell from the limited pictures.
To be safe here is what needs to be done in order for it to survive the night. It may not be old enough to go to the bathroom on its own. Since you fed it, it will need to go. Get a q-tip, dip it in warm water, and clean its behind by gently swabbing it like a mother cat would. That helps or encourages it to go. Feed it every couple hours. Again it looks old enough that you could probably get by every 4 hours but try not to go longer than that. It needs warmth. Nothing sucks worse than finding a cold dead baby kitten in a cold box. If you are putting it in in a box, put towels down that it can crawl into/under and a either a regular incandescent lamp at one end just to warm things up a bit. A cat's normal body temperature is 101.5, not 98.6. So what feels warm to you is normal for a cat. If the kitten gets too cold it will die. If you don't have a lamp getting a heating pad and put it on low. If you don't have that put a hot water bottle in there under a blanket. It's already lost body heat due to what it went through all day long. Keep it warm. |

Kittens cannot shit on their own... the mother licks thier assholes till they shit...
So, you have to take a warm wet soft cloth and massage its asshole after you bottle feed it... 6 to 8 times a day till it shits... its only for 5 weeks or so... its very rewarding... it becomes your child... |

Others have said the correct advice. If that is to much or you do not want that responsibility call the local humane society and they will find a foster home. My wife gets calls all the time for one's that small. Found cats tend to be the best ones, that one will find with you and would be a great friend.

Well OP, it appears from the overwhelming replies here stating that you need to massage the cat's asshole with a warm, wet cloth to make it shit that one thing is glaringly obvious here..
You need to massage the cat's asshole with a warm, wet cloth to make it shit. Or you could just squeeze it. |

This reminds me of the time I found kittens at work (in Florida) when it was raining and the foreman had me go get stuff to fed them. He left them out in a box for momma. Two got picked up. The other two he took to give to people he knew.

I only see him a couple times a year, but he's always cool with me. They remember. |

Use it for target practice. Out of all the worthless animals on the planet, the cat is number one.

Syringe and cat milk from tractor supply to keep it hydrated until a vey or humane society can take it...or be a heartless bastard and leave it where you found it.
PD dropped 4 kittehs about that age off at our house 2 weeks ago. Wife is on the city council and said she'd get them adopted out. Damnit! |

I'm currently in this boat. Someone found a 3ish week old kitten at work and brought it to me.
I'm going to foster it and do my best to find it a home. I'm already full up with 3 inside and 1 outside cat. |

Kitties raised by bottle feeding usually turn out to be very social. At least that's my experience.

View Quote But yeah Im not going to kill her motivation. I figure the first time it downed the bottle it was actually hungry. The other times not so much. |
