Because I put my money where my mouth is, the next ten posters in this thread with join dates prior to 2018 who aren't already paid can guess a number between 1 and 500. Closest number wins. If only they offered something better than Platinum...
The only reason I have platinum is to support the site. I don't use any of the frills, at least, I don't think I do. I'd probably jump on a life with all of the money I've saved by not browsing Amazon anymore. |

I haven't read the whole thread, but I'll play the contrarian ahole and ask what perks are there for members?
Is it just site features, photo storage, more messages, and stuff like that? Or, are there any ackshuell perks? I thought this site was so huge and made so much money on advertising that a few $24/yr memberships should be a drop in the bucket for it. Isn't the site owned by brownells now? If so, it seems like they have a huge opportunity to bundle it with their edge membership and create an Amazon like prime offering. Maybe they could offer $ and % off coupons or other discounts to members as an example. Just spitballing here, but if you want people to buy something, sell it to them in a way they can't live without it. |

So I can get super pissed at an obvious troll whos being handled with kid gloves by the mods, finally reach my limit and foolishly reply in kind, only to get banned and lose the upgraded membership anyway? Nah... get rid of the really blatant trolling first. This place should stand for something other than solely "ar15s". To be honest I feel like if Big Tech hadn't come after the site, the leadership would have ended up going down a similar road in the end anyway.

So many ads on this page I can't figure out where to buy a membership!?
 I had a membership for a while, not sure what happened. I think I got kicked out of a room by a local soup nazi and let it lapse. If you buy a membership do they get rid of the ads? Or at least get a 5% discount? What percent of the income Brownells makes off this ip address is from ads and what percent is from memberships? If you buy a membership do they tell you where the money goes? |

Click the bottom of the page that says join team. The ads in the threads go away. The site sponsor links stay at the top and bottom header. Which I personally like but my wallet doesn't.
