Quoted: 'We see what's out there in terms of social media. Our workforce is concerned about their safety,' Rettig told The Washington Post Tuesday. 'The comments being made are extremely disrespectful to the agency, to the employees and to the country.' Rettig, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, had sent out a letter to employees, which was obtained by The Post, informing them that the IRS would be undertaking a risk assessment for each of the IRS's 600 faciliies - the first of its kind since the Oklahoma City federal building bombing in 1995. 'For me this is personal,' Rettig said. 'I'll continue to make every effort to dispel any lingering misperceptions about our work. And I will continue to advocate for your safety in every venue where I have an audience. You go above and beyond every single day, and I am honored to work with each of you.' View Quote They’re seeding the public and the news cycles with “terrorism” keywords. A lot of “terroristic threat” statutes contain language like, “…or would make a person feel threatened, harassed, intimidated or in fear.” They’ll push the narrative about the “threatening language” and then pretty soon you’ll see all criticism from meaningful politicians stop, because nobody wants to be accused of “fomenting terrorism” in an election year. Plus, it warms people up to the idea of imprisoning people for saying words about the government that the government doesn’t like. It’s no coincidence that they’ve been pushing the “domestic right-wing extremism” for months and suddenly the IRS is reviewing security in a way not done since “the Oklahoma City federal bombing.” Because the attacks, sieges, and arsons at federal buildings in Oregon in 2020 apparently didn’t raise any concerns. |

There are quite a few references to tax collectors in the Bible. I’m not sure any are favorable. More proof that the Christian church is full of white nationalist extremists, I guess.

Holy shit, disrespectful comments are worse than violence.
I'm totally not noticing the constant framing of criticism as violence to skew public opinion against dissent. |

Typical bunker mentality from yet another 3 letter agency. When did they start drawing straws to see who starts the car?

Cry bullies. They all use the same strategy.
They go after people and ruin their lives, and then tell the world they are being unfairly targeted and under threat. |

Fuck. I hate these people. They chose poorly and yet have the long arm of the law in their corner. On what fucking planet is a tax collector supposed to feel safe??
For the feds reading this: paid in full, $101,371 for 2021, payroll tax is current, quarterlies for 2022 too. The ‘2 too means also. Fuck you. |

IRS: "We just hit paydirt. We intend to audit and harass ALL of you dirty unwashed peasants and squeeze you for every penny we can get out of you. Shut up and take it."
Working Joe: "Fuck you, you suck. There's a reason tax collectors have been hated for thousands of years." IRS: "Aaaaaa! Terrorist! How DARE you!?!" {looks at his friends, DHS and FBI} "They're being big meanies to me, go get 'em!" |

I hope that no IRS employee ever gets a good night's sleep again in their lives.

Anybody with a lick of sense would call that a clue. When everybody in America hates you, you might be on the wrong side of things. Of course anybody with a lick of self respect wouldn't work for that agency, the fbi or any of the other scumbag groups. I certainly don't advocate for violence against anyone, but I don't blame everyday Americans shunning them and their families.

The tax man has been hated for thousands of years. When they go after more people in government and go after democrats with the same vigor as republicans that would be a start at being a little bit human. Until then they can eat shit.

Not concerned enough. When FBI, ATF, IRS, CIA start quitting en masse out of disgust or fear, then we're getting somewhere.
