I bet this black bond is confronted by white racism at every turn and bangs abuch of aryan broads in the movie too. More white guilt pc bullshit. Try making shaft or blade white and see blacks and libs go INSANE. Even that egpyt movie is getting shit for not making the egyptions black (protip - they wernt). Fuck everything

I love the guy as an actor, but seriously, casting him as bond is nothing more than political correctness and white guilt. What's next, a black Annie?

No racism at all, but Bond is a white British character, that is the stupidest idea that I have ever seen... Beats the idea Craig was floating of a Gay Bond I remember reading that and being like, "BULLSHI... That... That actually kinda makes sense. Huh." Bond is a spy, basically a high stakes actor. With the exception of Vesper, he never really gets involved with women, outside of his job. Granted, I think he's a little more enthusiastic about it than a gay guy would be, but I could see the case to be made. |

Herein lies the problem with affirmative action in whatever form it happens to take. Dude is a rock solid actor, no question about that. But does the studio want him for his talent or his skin color or do they luck out and get both? I'm a huge Bond fan and I'm fairly indifferent on this one. He'll have a huge burden of measuring up to the others before he even starts the role. Frankly I'd rather see him get a shot at defining a new character.

From what I've read abot the guy, he's a raging dick who complained constantly about playing his role in the Thor movies. Not sure why the Bond franchise would want that headache.

That would be awesome. We should get Benedict Cumberbatch to play Martin Lutheran King while we're at it. |

He made a good Heimdall in Thor.
There was another movie he was in from a couple years ago and I didn't recognize him as "Stringer Bell" at all. He's a good actor. |

As much as I dislike him, Jamie Foxx carried the new Annie movie. Jamie Foxx has proven to be an incredible actor. He's up there with Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, and others who surprised the heck out of me at how good they could do dramatic - non comedy - roles. I doubt I'll see Annie, but your observation does not surprise me. Heck, just watch his eyes in "Collateral" as he is reacting to Tom Cruise. That's a subtle skill not many seem to be able to pull off. Ironically, his real breakthrough tole, in "Ray," didn't allow him to use his eyes that way at all. I wonder if he can do accents? The next cliche step - if he has the chops - is to go that route, or do the mental handicap thing. |

While he's a great actor I think he's a little old to be taking up the Bond mantel, that and it seems like it's just a PC stunt and it'll likely hurt the franchise.

That'll kill the Bond film series.
PC is PC but this is bullshit. What's next? A lesbian, handicapped James Bond? It's like a progressive circle-jerk to watch remakes of movies with black people and women instead of the original.

I think he would be a great James Bond. The whole idea is being stylish and cool, which he certainly could pull off.
I remember when Colin Firth wanted to play Bond.....No thanks!!!! Weren't a bunch of people butt hurt because Craig had blonde hair? If Idris Elba did get the role, heads would explode like Clayton Bigsby |

I think it'd be great because it'd add to the fan theory that James Bond/007 is not one man, but a cover for a position within MI6.
Too many people are seeing him as Stringer Bell. I don't think they should drop Daniel Craig for him but if he's out for whatever reason then they should go for it. |
