Did the B-17 last October with my Dad and it was awesome. Tight squeeze and I'm a small guy but it was nothing short of awesome.

I LOVE the P51D and Spitfire (and Corsair). But c'mon... how do you out-sexy an SR-71? Nothing that's ever taken flight has out-sexied that thing. It had curves, angles, AND ludicrous SPEED.

P-47 Thunderbolt
8 - 50cal guns, recoil when fired reduced the speed by some 30mph.
Predecessor to the A10.
Very tough, could take a lot of punishment. But unforgiving a bit to fly.

What was the occasion for the CX flight? Long time buddy has captained Excels and Ultras for Netjets for a couple of decades. I asked him why he didn't want to fly the "cool/fast stuff" like the X, G550, etc and he said that he just doesn't want to give up his seniority in the straight wing Citations. Plus, he's nearly always in the States (outside of an occasional trip to Cabo).

I'm friends with one of the pilots of the TWA Connie. He got hired by TWA at age 21 and was assigned the Connie FO position since he was TOO YOUNG to hold an FE ticket. Bastard! Awesome guy who knows more about aviation than the entire Purdue Faculty--seriously. The guy's a genius.

TC

P.S.--My picks would be the F-4 for fun and the G650 for profit.
