Tough choices. Can I get one from each quarter century for five total?
Today, the Koenisegg 30 years ago - Acura NSX 50 years ago - 1962 Porsche 75 years ago - pending 100 years ago - Model T |

Probably a 1989 diesel Toyota Hilux. Roll bar, 4x4, stick shift, snorkel, brush guard... the works.
They’re dogs for sure and performance is less than mediocre... but they’re simple and they just don’t die. Such a vehicle would be useful for the days that surely lie ahead. |

Quoted: If you could have your choice of any production model car or truck from any year in brand new condition and price was not a factor, maybe even consider it as a free gift, what would you choose? A 60's muscle car? A new European super car? Maybe a classic pickup truck from the 1950's? Or a brand new 2021 pickup truck? Why did you choose what you did? For me, I would want something like this 1972 Ford 4x4 https://cdn.dealeraccelerate.com/worldwide/1/4918/295410/1920x1440/w/1972-ford-f250-highboy I chose this pickup truck because I wasn't old enough to have one when they were in production and have been driving well used and abused versions of them for most of my life. Low ground clearance sports or performance cars may be fun, but do not fit well into my lifestyle. Many would not make it up my gravel driveway. View Quote I had a Midnight Blue '74 F-250 with a 360 and a creeper box, bought it new. The truck was an animal. |

Pre-Tacoma Toyota pick up. Single cab, 2WD, 22RE motor. No options beyond A/C, radio and a sliding back window. If new, I can probably drive it for the rest of my life.

Assuming that I get to keep the cars that I already have, then an off-the-assembly line new 1970 to 1973 Opel GT. And some garage time to upgrade its shortcomings. Just because.
The other option would be a 1965 Impala SS with the original 409 engine option. The reason: I’ve had both, but they were basket cases well beyond what I was willing to spend on them to make them ‘showroom’ condition. |
