It wouldn't make a difference for most of them. Doesn't mean if your a "licensed contractor" you actually know what your talking about either

Dude, I didn't say I was a sex therapist.

If you say the stock market is going to crash, should you have show your masters degree in finance?

When online I'm a:
Contracter Neurosurgeon mechanical engineer Lawyer Race car driver and small engine mechanic I'm guessing the OP tried to wire his addition in triple split half phase 221. Because you know ... that's what it takes. |

OP, you're not actually napoleon dynamite. I'm a private investigator.
No, you can't see my license. |
|
Maybe we need a contractor icon and send our license to a mod

You want me to post a license on the internet that has not only my name but a unique number that can be looked up on a state website that has both my address and my phone number?
You are out of your fucking mind. |

ETA so maybe we should make Ar15.com testing you have to pass to give advice on whatever subject you're talking about. |

Maybe you should take everything with a grain of salt rather than demand things from others, op.

I'm the third one to say in PA it doesn't mean a thing, makes it easy to start a business here but just be careful who does work for you. Anyway internet advice should always always be taken with a grain of salt, or three.. I'm sure as hell not giving anyone a license on a public forum that says anything about me. I don't feel like having my company be AROCKED because someone misinterpreted my advice.

I'm a contractor. I don't give any real advice here anymore.
Been shouted down by guys that "worked for their grandpa on the farm and I don't know what I'm talking about" Lol. Now I just enjoy the retardation that people give them. Fuck it. Want some advice? Pay me. |

Yep, means dick in pa. Even in md, its a few hoops, then an open book test. Test has nothing to do with trades either. Any monkey can pass it.

There is no licensing (that I'm aware of) for IT contracting.
|

Not gonna happen.
That said, I have seen some profoundly jacked up work done by licensed contractors and unlicensed guys that do fantastic work. Having a license in my state just means that you have worked in your trade for 6 years (or have friends in the industry willing to bullshit for you) and that you can take a test that is more focused on business law, contracts, liens etc then it is on trade knowledge. My license is in a technology trade and the trade portion of the test was hilariously outdated. I actually had to go back and study obsolete equipment, some of it predated me in the industry (and I have been in it for 17 years now). Also: Undocumented people can get their contractor's license in CA. I believe they can take the test en espanol too. |
