It all depends on the circumstances.
My wife was very anti-gun when we first got married. It was because she was raised in a family that had no exposure to firearms and she fell into the typical MSM narrative. I knew she was very conservative, and very intelligent, as well as reasonable and it would just take a bit of time to educate her. If I would have gone hard…….and tossed her out ……I would have made a huge error.
That was 35 years ago. Currently, she has had her own CCW for many years. She loves to train, she is very disciplined, and she is a more accurate shot than I am.
My son had a very similar experience. Years ago, when he first started dating his wife…….she wasn’t “anti” but she certainly thought he was a bit of caveman when she learned he had a CCW and was always prepared. She went so far as good-hearted teasing. Her family doesn’t know damn thing about firearms, so she thought we were a bit paranoid. After a friend of ours was murdered, she has become a believer……real fast. Nowadays, I have seen her feel my son’s waist if she is nervous or ask him if he is prepared.
So……..guys……don’t be to quick to judge………but do pay attention and look at the whole package.
