I think a better question would be, will it change anyone's vote? I realize it should make a bigger difference because Biden won't make it four years if he wins. I can't imagine too many people are going to change their vote over a VP debate.

No. The moderator will step in every time Pence makes a valid point/counterpoint and save cumswalla. Pence isn't the aggressive fighter that Trump is so he'll allow the abuse, in an effort to appear to have better temperament.
To us he'll look like a champ that is reaching the depths of cumswalla's anal cavities. To the enemy she'll look like the poor minority woman who was literally raped on stage and a victim of toxic patriarchy. |

Pence is in a tough spot as far as the PC and cancel culture snowflakes are concerned - white straight man debating a mixed female. There are sure to be calls of "mansplaining", "patronizing", "sexist" and all that other bs.
For the adults watching though it should be easy for Pence to score points on Harris' blatant hypocrisy on Joe's accusers, her career, etc. All he has to do is remain cool, logical, and on point IMO. |

Conservative interpretation will be that Pence was calm, professional and presidential while Harris was shrill and bitchy.
Liberal interpretation will be that Harris was aggressive, prosecutorial and whatever, while Pence was evasive, unenthusiastic or something. Not a single voters mind will be changed. Mostly this will be used as a contrast to the first presidential debates. Everyone is going to notice that these two know how to take turns, avoid attacking family and maybe even make some substantive points (even if none of that is really true), and draw some negative comparisons with Trumps behavior in the first debate. |
