My wife goes through cereal like mad to manage her low blood sugars.  I make sure she buys the stuff that I don't like or else I'd eat it all myself.  I eat an apple and two little halos for breakfast every day.

Is she type 1? Because if she isn't then she is killing herself. She needs to stop eating cereal and all carbs except vegetables.

Most cereals, even the "healthy" ones, are  so loaded down with sugar you're getting more than your daily allowance in a single bowl.

Add a glass of juice and you just doubled it.

That is why the country is fat.

I just saw some corn flakes sold in a orange juice like carton for $8.99. This was at Whole Foods.

You may not remember, but years ago Chuckles Schumer had a big campaign about high cereal prices and was threatening to get the federal government involved

He was forced to back down when it was pointed out that coupons, sales, house brands, bulk sizes (eg Costco) brought the price per oz down significantly with no need for new laws.

Stupid people buy name brand cereal. Walmart doest own a cereal company, they pay general mill to put their stuff in a Greatvalue box.
Same with all other big chains.

Bottled water is the biggest rip off. Kids and grand kids leave the empties around my house. I  clean them, fill with tap water and put in fridge. Morons cant tell the difference. ( I DO HAVE A ONE MICRON FILTER)

Sarbucks is another bullshit rip off . $5 coffee my ass, 99 cents at 7-11 and 2 days a week mine throws in a free donut.

I lived with a girl in her grandfather's house for a while. His breakfast, every morning, was 2 eggs, 1 piece of toast, 1 banana, 2 shots of Black Velvet whiskey and a beer.

Every. Fucking. Day.

It's not like they just pour it from the taps into the bottles.  There is a massive filtration system it goes through first.

I'm not disagreeing what carbs do and how one should limit them. I am saying oatmeal is better than sugar cereal.

I'm saying it's not. Longer lower insulin spikes are still insulin spikes,  shorter higher insulin spikes are still spikes. Insulin makes you turn carbs into fat.   You can have that.  I'll keep undoing it and keep losing weight.
