You're a white shoe lawyer type, why not wear one of those Panama hats?  It would go well with your seersucker.

I've gotten better about using sunblock since met her, but only in the summer and spring. Maybe I could get a sombrero or one of those big coolie hats made out of wicker

Unfortunately I don't think I can pull off a cowboy hat and can't wear a Boonie hat everywhere

wear the hat that meets your need, quit being a slave tot the gods of fashion.

If you really want to be picky, ask your wife to get the hat for you. then the two important people will be happy: Her and you.

I just wear a normal looking straw hat when I need to.  I like that wax haven hat linked above, though.

Sure you can. There's no rule against it. I have a collection of boonie hats that I rotate through. Various camo patterns and one I picked up in the PI.

Speaking of the PI (and southeast Asia in general) have you ever considered one of the lamp shade hats? They seem to work pretty good.

I thought half the joy of getting older was not giving a shit what other people think?

I vote sombrero, hydro-dipped in neon green digital camo.

Al Czervik: Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?

[looks at Judge Smails, who's wearing the same hat]

Al Czervik: Oh, it looks good on you though.

Yes!

These are also required for owners of Martinis.

I'll admit I tend to wear a French chapeau de brousse (kinda like a boonie hat, but slightly different too) around in the summer time.

I can totally see you in one of these as you flip back your cape whilst twirling your handlebar mustache and laughing at the widow Schwartz.

Go Filson.  After about ten years of sweat, dirt and grime from use, it will start to look worn in.

Me neither.  The only hat I can get away with is a regular old ball cap.
