Can you shoot +P's without them sticking?

I have a 342PD and a 642 with a Ti cylinder I fitted, thinking about having my old stainless 642 cylinder cut for 9mm.

@TheJudgeHolden

I've shot A BUNCH of nato M882 (1263fps according to Google) and some Federal 124 grain +p, and have had no issues with stuck cases.

Do it man, my 940 and converted 340 are my favorite J frames to shoot. 9mm is more plentiful around here than 38 or 357, and it makes reloads so much easier/quicker... just load up on 9mm moon clips, get a good "de-mooner" and go nuts.

I wouldn't put it past some popular auction sites to just randomly slip an extra auction in now & again, particularly if you have a habit of bidding up an item and then only returning to the site after you've won, & bidding on two or three items at the same time.  If you sent me some random AR mag & charged my credit card some reasonable fee, I might be confused but I'd have a hard time insisting that I hadn't bought another AR mag.  FW_wife certainly wouldn't believe me, why would my bank?

Money well spent.

My m19-3 is the best handling gun I own. If I want to sit by a fire, smoke a pipe and enjoy my surroundings I want a 4" k frame near by.

Can I get a price check on a Colt snubbie?

When I was counting out the cash to buy the -3 above, a guy offered me a 6 shot .38 Special. It had an aluminum frame and that's all I know. Condition was about 90-95%. No box.

I was at one of the LGSs Saturday with my brother, just window shopping.  This particular place always has been on the higher side insofar as prices are concerned, but always well stocked.  They are still well stocked, but they have a lot more used handguns than ever before.  And, holy moley, the used gun prices aren't just high, they are stupidly high.  Used Detective Special... $1999.  Used 5.5" Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum... $1499.  Across the aisle in the new case was an identical one for $600.  I'd put the average used gun at triple the normal prices.  Absolutely nuts.  They had a couple 4" Model 19s used, in decent condition, but not outstanding... $1500+.  I'm not sure if maybe these are consignments and the owners put the stupid high prices on them but if so, all the owners must be nuts.  I'm guessing the shop has them and priced them high simply because of the number of them.  I'm hitting up a semi-local gunshow this coming Saturday and now I'm curious if the prices there are going to be in line with what I saw at the LGS.

It is crazy and I’m afraid it’s only here to stay.

I was looking at 2.5” 19s motivated by another thread and ended up getting a new 2.5” 686+ that was cheaper.  I thought it would satisfy my 19 craving but I still want a one because of To Live and Die in L.A.  Everything decent that I’ve seem is north of $1000 with some in the $1500 and up range.

Shoulda got one years ago but only recently got the major craving for snubbies.

The 686+ is a hell of a revolver though and am looking at routinely carrying it, too.

Been mulling it over for a week now and finally pulled the trigger and ordered one of the police trade in model 65-4 off of guns.com This morning. This will be my first k frame to add to the collecton of some J frames l frames and n frames. With the fixed sights I'll have to play around until I find a load that shoots to point of aim but this should make a great woods carrying gun when I don't need a big thumper.

Regarding prices:

An old friend of mind is a retired FHP trooper, who carried a 6 inch Python for some years, back when troopers were issued shiny revolvers in crossdraw holsters. No idea what price the agency had paid for that gun, probably back in the early 70s. In the mid 80s when those guns were phased out, he was told he would be allowed to buy his duty Python...for whatever the current retail cost of a Python was. He said it was probably $700 or so then, and he was mighty pissed about the "deal" he was offered by his agency.

I occasionally kick myself for not buying a Nagant revolver when Centerfire Systems had them for $70.00 15 or 16 years ago.
