3" 65-5. No doubt I over paid some but they ain't making more and I've wanted a fixed 3" old smith forever now.

i need to find the perfect set of combat style grips next is all but this gun is going to get shot a lot guaranteed.

If you are going to stick with those factory peanut grips I would at least put a Tyler T adapter on it.

There's a firing pin safety and it's actuated by a lug when the trigger is depressed

Lug broke off. Gun jammed up. Out of commission for now as the shaft of the safety floats and can prevent it from firing if it turns to the right position

I've sent a email out to smith for a replacement part

The size of the sight blade isn't the issue.  On the fixed sight models with pinned front sights, the tab that inserts into the barrel is much larger than on the adjustable sight models.  All of the aftermarket sight blades are made for the adjustable sight models.

Last revolver month I got a 19 carry comp.

Went to the range today to exercise it a and a few others that haven't been out in a while.

I really wanted to like the secret service style grips it came with but they just don't feel right to me. Which is weird because I can shoot other handguns with my pinky curled under all day. So I'm glad I brought the included rubber combat style with me to swap out.

This revolver month will be celebrated with a new set of wood combat grips for the 19CC

I think Hogues has some of the better round butt wood grips right now unless you can find Ahrends.

I don't like the carry comp wood grips either.

Yeah, I couldn't help myself. It's a new 4" Python. An early gift to myself. I was going to wait but then it seemed like they were drying up a bit on GunBroker. So I pulled the trigger, pun intended.

I tried a 6" at the LGS that had an amazing trigger. This was surprisingly heavier albeit smooth.

I put Hogue grips on it when I got it but hated them. I usually like rubber grips but this didn't fit the gun well, didn't fit me well, and left the back strap exposed surprisingly. Recoil with these grips was the same as with my Kimber or KC despite how much heavier the Python is.

I'll try the wood ones. They don't feel so bad. I also ordered some Pachmayrs.

Yes it is. I definitely like the "Charging" grips better than the small rubber grip that comes on the regular 30DS.

One of the few guns I've ever sold and regretted. I had the black one and sold it. Tried all sorts, security six, model 19 k-comp, s&w 627 2.625", model 60 pro, Kimber 3", s&w 327 mountain lite, to name a few.

The Rhino was more accurate than all of them, and the recoil of shooting full house 357 mags is like shooting 38 special wadcutters. It also carries well since it has an aluminum frame. The only downside is you have to be mindful of your grip. If you shoot with a thumbs-forward grip, you'll put your thumb tip right at the forcing cone area. You have to tuck your thumbs.

I know they aren't for everyone, but I really like them.

First step of my GP100 rehab.  It was my first handgun.  The original 6” barrel is worn out.  LOTS of super hot loads.  Replaced it with a new 4” SS barrel.  New tritium fiber optic front sight and Bowen rear.  Next step is trigger job, bead blasting, then off to Richter to get their Diamond Like Coating.

He's going to bead blast most of it, except for the ring around the cylinder where the cylinder latch rides, which will be polished.  So the warning stuff will get wiped out, as well as "GP100" on the other side.  He's going to mark it "Horvath Customs .357", after blasting.

The engraving won’t be anything fancy at all.  Just utilitarian marking.  Like on this custom .45 he built for me.  You can only see the “fancy” work if you look close (custom oversized cylinder, etc.)
