That looks very nice.

Don't worry about how loose the holster is.  What's the worst that could happen?  Your gun could fall out someplace and you not realize it?

No problem!

Look at how old school cops used to carry their shit!

I needed that laugh
To be honest it was really just equivalent of lighting a Benjamin on fire. Like I’d ever carry this revolver for any practical circumstances...

That's beautiful!  I really need to get a .41, just because.

I ordered Altamonts for my 629 a month ago.  They were out of stock, but said they'd get to work on it.  I get an email that they shipped a couple days ago.  Checked the tracking today, and the USPS claims they delivered them to my front door / porch.  No, they didn't.  FML.

This thing has been at my LGS for quite a while. Every time I went in I stared at it.  Today I was unable to muster the strength necessary to resist.

My name is Hoss622, and I have a revolver problem.

On a whim, I figured I’d ignore what tracking said, and check the mailbox.  My driveway is 200 yards long, so I only check the mail every couple of days.  Yep, the grips were there.

They look nice and feel pretty good.  Might take some emory cloth to some edges I don’t like.

Fun fact about clamshells:

Smart assed kids figured out what button to push on the cop's holster to make the gun fall out, and it happened on occasion that they would sneak up next to a cop and push the button just for fun.

@hoss662

Help me out, how do you place an order with altamont? The grips you got look great.

My experience with them is only once and less than good.

I called their sales representative # on the website a few days ago. Explained to the guy I saw some grips on their gun broker listing. Told him I just wanted to buy some grips and I don't have a gun broker or ebay account and just wanted to buy a specific set of grips. He said that's all done in a different building and he doesn't know what the # is for them.

He says try this #. So I dial em up and it turns out to be some dang ebay seller named fat something telling me he's a dealer for them and nope, he didn't have the ones I was looking for.

@03RN

took your advice on the hogue grips and got a set of cocobolo combats. They actually seem to fit great and I think look awesome.
  The bottom screw wasn't in the package so I'm going to look for one today before I email them and see if they can send me one but if I need to I can steal one from another gun if I get a chance to shoot them this weekend

I'm thinking a few boxes of Buffalo Bore 265 hard cast for trips out west, and something lighter for "every day" use.

Their website worked fine for me:

https://www.altamontco.com/pistol-grips/smith-and-wesson/n-round/

Scroll down to the grip you want, click the "buy it" button, then go to your cart and pay for it.  It came directly from them, no middle man.

Ah, I had mistaken your post. I had seen that function but thought you had gotten something that wasn't available which doesn't have that button, essentially making a custom order or something like that.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to do about the unavailable stuff.  The one I ordered had a "buy it" button, but after I put in the order, they emailed me and said they were out of stock, saying it would take 2 - 4 weeks.

Really enjoying my 686+.  Recently added the Holosun which is fantastic.  Only downside for me is that I'd prefer a little higher grip on the gun that what the finger grooves allow, but not a huge deal.

I went over a friend's house to look at his recently deceased father-in-law's stuff, that he was selling for the family.  I swear, I only went to look at powder and such.  He had a bunch of .32 bullets, so I asked why.  He says, "Oh, that's for the .327's that he had.  I still have one, this SP101."

And just like that, I bought another nice revolver that I don't need :)

$650.  He threw in 350 rounds of ammo and a holster for another $150.  Showing up with only $800 in my pocket was a good move.

I still need H110, which I didn't go home with.  I have a problem.

I think I like the longer combat grips just a bit more than the boot type grips.  Both of those are Model 38 Air Weights. They have quite a bit of kick when shooting +P ammo Federal.

Even with the Scandium frame, that 329 is pretty weighty.

Still much lighter than my Vaquero in 44mag.

Lol, exactly. I have a bunch of .44 Special that’s been sitting around for a while. Probably load it up with Magnums when I’m hunting.
