Has anyone ordered a custom holster by Craft?
They are the only ones I see online who can do a chest holster for my Model 57. I’m kind of leery sending credit card info to Slovakia Attached File |

I do really like my M92s but I want another marlin to put a 1-3 or 1-4 on it for deer hunting since most of the season is buck only. |

It’ll be here next week, I’ll post pics then. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/108967/66601748-D6AF-49F5-AF99-BFA8D464136E_jpe-2366154.JPG View Quote I should have bought one of each in the night guard series when they were being made. Smith should make those a regular catalog item. |

Quoted: It's such a handy little carbine man, perfect for thumping hogs View Quote Like I said, perfect. A mildly heavy-for-caliber SWC at 1k fps is almost always the ticket. My cast 44 cal Keith 265 gr at 1k? Perfect for most things. Make it a 175 grain Keith .357? Perfect for most things. A 285 grain SWC .45 at 1k fps? Perfect for most things. It's almost like a recipe for success over most situations, without punishing recoil. |

Been a good week… bought that SP101 .327 Sunday, and my Dad bequeathed this sweet kit gun to me today.

It's really nice but I can't draw the damn pistol from it when I put it in my pants. The holster is formed so that the cylinder goes in and the leather is formed so exact it won't allow me to draw it's sticking under the roll of the leather. I'm still trying to figure out what I can do about it because I'm sure trying to return it is going to be a nightmare. But the credit card thing isn't a huge deal. My credit card shut it down and I got a text to ok that I was using it overseas but it must happen so often they give you an option to pay through PayPal right after your card declines. |

I just shot my 629 Mountain Gun with peppy .44 Special loads and the Altamont grips I showed off earlier. They were horrible. “Proud” spots everywhere that beat the shit out of my thumb and web. They also imposed a weird hand geometry that I’m not used to.
Looks like I’ll be spending $90 on the Miculek grips, with the silly logo. I love Jerry, but I wish he’d sell them plain, like he used to. |

I got a shipping notification from Taylors on the Nickel Outlaw .357
I also got a final invoice, they’ll bill the card I provided in January. I’m scrambling to find an original invoice, in this thread, screenshots, photos I sent to friends via text, etc. If my memory serves, the invoice price is about $75 more than I recall from Jan 12th. It makes sense but I’m not happy about it Or I was more drunk than I thought when I ordered it. Oh well, whatever, it shows up Thursday. |

View Quote I tried to like the Altamont grips, but dayum, they rattled on my 629 soon as I put them on, and no amount of tightening stopped the rattle. You are spot on about the weird finger groove geometry. Holding it as the grips were designed had my hand all the way down toward the bottom half of the grip, which would be disastrous if I was shooting magnum loads out of it. They looked nice, but the workmanship just ain’t there, and I swapped them out for a Pachmayr Decelerator, which is an order of magnitude more comfortable and feels just right. |

I've never liked anything from altamont. They're to glossy, look like plywood, and the finger grooves are all wrong. |

Recently had Dad's old Hi-Standard rejuvenated because the finish was pretty rough. It's an R-101 and has been in the family for about 65 years. It still locks up tight and shoots 9 shots of .22lr well. I remember seeing it in with Dad's gun stuff when I was three years old and later, I took a few rabbits and squirrels with it as well. Lots of sentimental value attached to this early Sentinel. The local gunsmith did a great job (he's a certified Cerakote applicator) and I am thrilled with the result. Like to think the ol' man would approve if he were alive to see it, too. It's not a rare, high dollar, collectable so...life's too short to have an ugly gun.
