Funny how one never sees this level of outrage or social saturation over the massive atrocities of the Communists.
I wonder what excuses the American left would use to justify the Soviet re-utilization of the camps in Eastern Europe. I'd like to put a few questions to any of our ArfCommies, if they'd care to address that in a meaningful way. Was it okay for the Soviets to re-utilize the KZ system camps postwar? If so, why? Why are Soviet atrocities different/better/more acceptable/easier to ignore than Nazi atrocities? Were Soviet atrocities simply a "realization of historical necessity?" If so, does this make them "better" than Nazi atrocities? Do any American leftists possess the intellectual honesty to read Soviet survivor's stories and evaluate the merits of the Soviet system in that light? The Roman Empire was responsible for all sorts of messed up stuff that would be abhorent today but you don't see people calling for the destruction of their symbols, artifacts, and structures. If this eagle needs to be blown up, then Hollywood shouldn't be using Swastikas in movies either to portray Nazis. Of course I'm in the camp that you put it all out there and worry more about how things are being used and in what context than the actual symbol itself. |

I get it. I don’t know if my Eastern European relatives were killed or collaborated with NAZIs.
But I do understand the Jewish business man’s perspective. I suspect this is “pay back,” not “rewriting history.” The Old Testament is the original “eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth,” mantra—Jesus Christ was the “turn the other cheek” and have tolerance & compassion for all, especially “sinners.” I’m always surprised at the judgmental demeanor & intolerance of most “Christians” I encounter vs “Christ-like” compassion. |
