Get into a bidding war with this guy. Wonder how high he’d go for this virtue signaling.

Quoted: Yes, more examples of how destroying symbols will ensure that history will never repeat itself. View Quote I believe it's even more evil than allowing history to repeat. They WANT history to repeat. Once the physical symbols, statues, etc are destroyed the next step will be to re-write history. Hell, that's already going on. Those in power today want to be able to use the same rationale, tactics, and methods the Nazis used, but they have to get rid of history before they can do that. They hide behind these symbols being "offensive" but what they really want is for people to forget, so they can do the same things all over again. |

Verging on straight up wealth / might makes right. |

I wish someone would figure out where all these growing throngs of white supremacists are at all of a sudden…..

As much as I hate fucking nazis and commies, put that in a museum. History should never be forgotten.

Quoted: So when the tali's destroyed the Buddha statues they were in control of them and essentially owned them, so that's cool with you? View Quote Not even remotely the same thing. If the original salvagers want to recoup their cost and it’s legally theirs let them sell it. If the Jewish guy ends buying it , it’s his to do whatever he wants with it. If a museum wants it for display they can pay like anyone else. Museums shell out big money for stuff all the time. If they donate it to a museum good on them. |

What an utter retard, it's just a symbol, it only has the power your weak little brain gives it. Stick it in a museum, in a section for WWII history and let people see it if they want or they can choose not to go into that room. If your brain is so smooth that you get triggered by something from history then I doubt you're going to learn anything in a museum in the first place. People like him would stroke out if they traveled Asia, there are still various versions of it all over.

Quoted: Not even remotely the same thing. If the original salvagers want to recoup their cost and it’s legally theirs let them sell it. View Quote Its exactly the same thing. The salvagers originally wanted to sell it on free market. (Im fine at this point with someone buying and blowing it up.) Gov said no. (Now it becomes not private property anymore) Court said Yes sell it but the gov in charge. Now it looks like Gov will decide who it goes to. If it gets blown up its just the same as the Taliban blowing it up but with more paperwork. A state sanctioned destruction of an artifact. |

Quoted: Why do you feel this is a worthy relic and why don't the museums that have already had it offered, have interest? View Quote It is on par with tearing down statues of Stonewall Jackson and Robert E Lee. It is pure emotion, and an attempt to erase history. Future generations should see these artifacts, learn honest history, and be better for it. Destroying relics because that relic invokes an emotional response is shameful. |
