The state's expert witness testified that their methods did not create anything that wasn't there.
Their rendering of Bert & Rudy's Auto Service sign seems to dispel that. |

Looking at the pictures.
If I was juror I would call BS on them. They are too blurry and altered to tell anything and it is totally impossible to ID who is in the picture or what they are doing. A photo speeding ticket requires more clarity in the image and that is a speeding ticket. No way a murder trial can use that picture as evidence and I am shocked it was allowed. I have to think the judge has given the prosecution enough rope to actually hang themselves. The ADA and prosecution are completely corrupt and absolute idiots to try to use this as proof of anything. |

Quoted: Typical courtroom enlargements are made so the jury can see the image from afar. Not so the state can argue that estimated data based on originally compressed data that threw out full values for the sake of file size constitutes proof beyond reasonable doubt over someone's countenance and demeanor. Think about the pedantic questioning that followed Huber's aunt submitting the photo of her nephew: State's Attorney: Is this a true and accurate image of Mr Huber? Let's remember ... this all started with the state's witness saying that he was viewing this on his iPhone and he zoomed in on the video to see what Kyle was doing. His iPhone most likely already had a screen resolution that was greater than the native resolution of the drone video. So, he's zooming in on something the evidence tech had already stabilized and did a 200%+ enlargement on? And he is making a judgement based on that? The defense will get to address this in closing, if they choose. Though, it would have been more powerful to have the detective pull out his phone and demonstrate how he did this.
