What are you doing still posting?
Considering that you refused to answer my challenge and willingness to drive all the way to Georgia to whoop your butt in a shooting match between you and your REPR vs me and my FD308?
Not being a competitive shooter myself, that is a disgrace for you to still be here running your mouth.

Didn't we go over this on the last page?

I will restate: I could not get access to my friends range on short notice at appropriate times. I work Mon-Fri 9-6 and pick my 15 month up promptly at 6:30 every day. Saturdays I work 10-5 and then take care of my child. I had no time to do on on the Wednesday you were driving through after normal working hours.

If you would like to reschedule a Sunday I will be agreeable as I can get someone to watch the kid, cant take him to a range.

I don't know you from Adam, but unlike you, Google is my friend.

ETA - Mrs. L just Googled this up off of  F&D's website - FYI - LaRue has a big "R" in it ...

Value to Pricing Ratio

The “value to price” ratio of F&D products in relation to our “high-end” competitors stands around 2:1. F&D invests approximately 20-40% more actual-cost into the manufacture of its rifles compared to companies offering rifles in this market such as: Larue Tactical, GAP, LWRCI, POF, LMT, JP, KAC, etc. Additionally, F&D invests approximately 30-50% more machine & labor hours into its rifles. F&D is truly in a class of its own, a tier above all competitors in quality.

Quality of Engineering/Manufacturing

F&D personnel with their engineering practices and manufacturing processes are top-notch, and was structured as such from the beginning. Most of our competitors were simply machine shops or rifle assemblers before becoming "rifle-manufacturers". The problem with that kind of transition is that these companies typically have never employed seasoned designers or mechanical/fluid engineers; worse, they typically do not employ workers with or encourage them to develop an innovative or inventive spirit, and would rather just crank out the same product year after year. This is why, so often, the market sees rifles that are little more than carbon copies of existing DPMS or Armalite products. F&D has introduced leading-class innovations to the autoloading market with its FD platform rifles, and will continue to do so with future products.[/span]

ShotShow 2014 - Jan 1, 2014

Due to our continued dedication to nothing but the completion of rifles that have been on order throughout 2013 and building inventory for 2014, F&D will not be attending ShotShow this year.

Perhaps our competitors who are backlogged more than a year should take note!

" 2012 ATF Report "

I feel dumb asking, but what's that mean?

I didn't look for F & D, but my assumption is that it lists very little as far as an AFMER report on firearms made by F & D. Hence, not much Micro-honing (setback be damned!) being done by F&D in the first place.

(He doesn't make many guns.)

The "value to price” ratio of F&D products in relation to our "high-end” competitors stands around 2:1.

Okay, ya got me, I'm more than a little curious where you came up with this number you are stating as if it's a fact ?

Never your neighbor,

Marky-Mark

ETA - And FWIW,  I met Brad Thor at a fallen warfighters memorial at Ft. Bragg in 2005.  He didn't mention any neighbors of mine.

ETA 2 - What do the initials F & D stand for ?
Hahahaha. Now you know what you sound like to a lot of us.

" Reserve Not Met "

So, I'm up early and was wondering exactly how these "much-more-work" rifles of "20 - 40 % more value than LaRue" were sold ... this particular More-Work-More-Value seller is in ... New Braunfels ?  Another next door neighbor perhaps ?  Anyhow, I may have found the Holy Grail, the coordinates to the all-hallowed Micro-Lapping / Ultra-Honing lair of el chupacabra -  the legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas.

Yes, yes, I realize I was warned and am losing market share even as I type.

ETA - I see I got tossed onto the etcetera scrap heap ...

The FD308 boasts a much higher level quality design and manufacturing processes than all competitors including LWRC, Larue, POF, LMT, GAP, JP, etc...

ETA - Looks like el .3 moa is looking for a new home, statistically speaking of course.

FD308 Prototype (as pictured)

YouTube Video
Up for auction is the only FD308 prototype that will be made available for sale: SN#PT2. The barrel on this rifle has approx 2,500 rounds. Only 3 final prototypes have been manufactured of the FD308 prior to entering production. This auction presents you the opportunity for an extraordinary purchase not only because it is arguably the highest quality 308 auto-loading rifle in the world, but also that it comes with F&D's exclusive Unlimited Lifetime Warranty, offered by no other rifle-maker. SN#PT2 represents the absolute pinnacle of auto-loading firearms design and manufacturing exactness.
SN2 performs at sub 1/2 MOA accuracy, often accomplishing a statistical average of .3 MOA using certain match factory ammo.
The FD308 boasts a much higher level quality design and manufacturing processes than all competitors including LWRC, Larue, POF, LMT, GAP, JP, etc...
Unlimited Warranty

F&D's prototype model unlimited warranty is an ultimate end-user guarantee that offers the rifle owner a number of advantages over any traditional warranty, such as: free lifetime upgrades to revised & updated components, no term-limit, free replacement of all components from wear & tear (excluding barrel bore/chamber). Free lifetime replacement of all components due to unintentional & non-negligent damage. Essentially it's a rifle for life. See www.fd-defense.com/terms for complete terms of sale and warranty.
FD308 Features:

308 Win, 17" match chambered, 416 stainless barrel, lapped & polished bore, utilizing a high quality barrel by Krieger
Unconstrained infinitely variable tuned piston system: NP3-Plus coated, all high-temp stainless components. Quickly breaks down for cleaning and inspection.
Non-reciprocating side charging handle
Meticulously machined matching lower receiver, upper receiver, and rail (all serialized): exclusive hand-forged 7075-T6 aluminum, hard anodized
9.4 lbs with H4 heavy buffer, match contoured stainless barrel, and UBR stock; can be reduced to 8.4lbs with lightweight accessories
Matched-pair bolt and extension: 9310 vacuum melted spacecraft grade alloy steel, case hardened, shot-peened, hand-polished, precision ground, lapped, and NP3-Plus coated
Magpul 20-round P-mag; fits and feeds flawlessly
Lifetime Transferable Warranty
20 minute top rail cant, for added scope range
Bolt-on barrel/rail configuration for quick and repeatable barrel swaps and inspection; maintains higher rigidity than barrel-nut designs, and consolidates the absolute lowest and most compact rail-height available to any piston system. The F&D barrel interface maintains 8200lbs of rigid axial force against the upper receiver, compared to 6700lbs with barrel nuts utilized across the industry. Other "quick-change" barrel systems maintain little to no axial force against the upper receiver (LMT). Axial barrel retaining force is one of the most significant structural contributors to accuracy and consistency of AR style rifles.
Magpul MIAD modular grip
Custom designed, hardened, hand-polished, and NP3-Plus coated bolt catch
Rail modules for accessory attachment
3rd-Party Component Features:

Geissele Automatics High-Speed DMR trigger (not the cheaper SSA version)
Ambidextrous safety selector
Magpul UBR stock
Troy Industries folding battlesights
Harris bi-pod and mount shown in pictures
Ships to FFL only.

Okay, I've read enough.

My conclusion is that a certain so-and-so puts 20% - 40% more exaggeration into things.

One mystery - a few years back I wondered how in the world the "...we will surely dominate" Round Rock company, that sprang suddenly on the scene, had created this big data-base of drawings of every single doo-dad in their rifle, and then had 'em all posted up on their website - at the time I was going "wtf?" ... I even drove over to the Round Rock address posted to do some scouting, hoping to see how much market-share I had left.

Anyhow, if this F&D outfit is truly the same as the one I saw their metal building over in Round Rock, how did they jack it up and move it to New Braunfels ... ?  Guess I'll go to my grave with that mystery hanging.

Later neighbors,

ML

Uh, it was on page 20 something.... nice try.

Says page 9, Mr. Nice Try.

This thread was actually backed up on the GD page 58 when you "performed a diligent search, and dug it up" and decided to all of a sudden post on a dead-thread for which you had not otherwise posted on.
Why?
What made you do such an extensive search for it?

Maybe its because of this? http://fd-defense.com/files/LWRC_NDA_Barrel_QD.pdf
Oh Schnapp... did I not perform engineering work on that too for LWRC? And are you using this on your rifles today? Hmmm....

Perhaps you should use Google a little more wisely, and then crawl back into your little hole.
This is big-boy territory you have "inadvertently" stumbled onto.

What I do on a daily basis is far beyond what you could ever dream of (in the machine shop and on the drawing board).
So keep up with your decent rifles and making money.
I still applaud you for it and wish you the best going forward.

Which tells me you couldn't possibly have the time to actually setup and run a machine, much less program one and design rifles/parts.
Thanks for verifying that all you do is sit in front of a computer... while someone else does the real work over there at La"R"ue.

Hand over fist  ... so much so they took the high road and dropped their Shotshow booth, losing all the points they'd accumulated - but not before taking a departing shot at us in the etcetera crowd.

I bought my first one in 2005... Which I suppose is also how I also effectively purchased, installed, programmed, setup, and proved-out many millions of dollars worth of horizontals while working as a project engineer at the Caterpillar engine plant, thereby allowing them to employ many more people than you do. While you were busy make target plates...

And the link works, always had.
