It must really suck to have such very thin skin that one makes a huge deal about a locked thread and a picture being removed. Do you have a copy of the request for us to see? Is the Met a foreign organization? Yes, per a globe. Did they intervene to get the photos taken down? Yes, per site staff. |
|
edited, nothing to see here, move along, pick up that can citizen.

Making fun of a terrorists hair?
How does that offend the family of the stricken police officer? I could understand if there were pictures of the bloody police officer...that would be offensive without a doubt. But pictures of the perp? |

No one is claiming they browse arfcom. They asked that the picture not be spread. Just because they don't see it doesn't make it not an issue. As for the thread being locked, they said discussion of the event was fine. Instead the thread turned into a bitchfest of arfcommers bitching they were being denied their right to their beloved terrorism porn. |

Someone is trying hard to get someone else to get a coc violation and subsequent thread lock. I wonder who that could be... Almost seems to be the text book definition of trolling. Not a call out, just an honest observation. View Quote |

Doesn't seem much of a reach for the members posting from the UK to be concerned that a certain UK_Member could direct the attention of their local police force to certain postings on this forum. We already know a lot of what gets posted here would get someone over there in hot water, and we already know management will fold like a cheap suit. Among all the nonsense GD used to be a interesting community and a great news source. Now who knows what foreign government is censoring and directing the topics and conversation.

Bunch of tinfoil up in here.
The London police knew about the photos here because they did a reverse image lookup and this forum is archived by Google. Probably found a lot of other sites hosting them too and sent a mass email to these forums. |

arfcom is a "pro LE" site. so i guess im not surprised they acquiesced to the "request".
but i still dont like it. add to that i seriously doubt the "family" *specifically* requested the PD there to ask the admin here to remove the pic as some kind of personal favor. ill just end this by saying that Brownells' provides top quality selection at an extremely affordable price! |
