The union types were a huge part of what happened last night. Seriously, other than heavy duty pickups, there is nothing that cannot be bought elsewhere. We need to hit those pampered, overpaid bastards where it hurts!
I did. I said FUCK YOU and got a 2013 Nissan Altima instead of a Chevy Cruze or Ford Fusion.
Quoted: Unfortunately, they've gained the position to make you pay. We will always be paying...huge win for the unions last night. I have been thinking about a Tacoma...

Do yourself a favor and buy the better vehicle no matter what company manufactured it.
already done, bought a used Nissan. That was my first "foreign" car and I'm in my mid 40s.
Quoted: Unfortunately, they've gained the position to make you pay. Yup. Their companies were failing because people wouldn't buy their shitty cars and they took your money anyway. The bailouts were a bribe to the unions; last night was the unions returning the favor. |
We just replaced our escalade with a Audi Q7 so they can go fuck themselves. No more affirmative action vehicles for us. I hope they starve.
My car has 4 silver rings, no bow tie, no blue oval, no ram.
What shocks me is look what O has done to the United Mine Workers. If he will screw them, he will screw the UAW too. People are STUPID |

My wife will be purchasing a Toyota Highlander this month. We will keep her Altima and I'll drive it from time to time until I retire my current daily driver. It costs little to tag, insure and operate. We bought it used in '98 and the two chirren drove it in high school and college. Then we reclaimed it. We've maintained it and it should be good for years to come. I may buy an impractical pickup down the road (Toyota) and the Altima will be economical to drive around town on errands.
Lol, like it matters.
You'll pay either way. Probably more if its via more bailouts. |
Heavy duty pickups my ass. Get a light duty and make a couple more trips. The damn things'll probably be outlawed anyways.

We need to hit those pampered, overpaid bastards where it hurts! it honestly won't matter, you think the auto industry was bad back in 2007-2009, wait until reality hits and nobody in this country will be buying new cars as they won't want to spend the money, given the fact the government will be taking more from us. Those union morons killed themselves and they're too fucking stupid to realize it. I think many in the "industry" knew this, including Ford, which as we saw over the past four years, have been spreading their wings so to speak, oversees, knowing full well, they'll be more successful outside of this country than they will inside. |

I've been screaming this shit to you rubes for years.
No UAW No Hollywood No concerts No pro sports Vote with your wallet because we sure hell can't vote ideology anymore... |

I can't afford new vehicles, so the UAW won't see any of my money anyway. I might have to start looking for a replacement to my '91 daily driver. Maybe something new, like a '93 or '94.

The unions are useful idiots, when they outlive their usefulness they will be handled like Hitler with the brown shirts.

i work at a GM dealer but im not UAW or paid close to what they are paid. this kinda stuff hurts us too. but if thats what it takes to punish these assholes then ill go work for an independent repair shop if i have to. the thing about me is i that i'll survive no matter what the economy does. i'll work harder and longer and adapt my lifestyle to fit my finances...
sorry :end rant: |
I have made the decision to never ever ever ever buy another GM , Ford or Dodge product ever again, especially GM.......did I mention never ever.
....AND....I'll extend that to after-market products too....AC Delco, Mopar, etc genuine parts will not see a dime of my money either. But, "let me be clear"....I hope GM does very well with its proposed moving of its manufacturing to China.....Toledo can rot like Detroit for all I care |
Mrs. IHJ and I both drive 16 year old Hondas. Given how much the job market is going to suck when I graduate in December, I don't see this changing for a long time.
I just bought a Toyobaru last year. Made in Japan with 95% Japanese parts content.
Bite me, UAW. |
Already did that. We replaced our Tahoe with a Sequoia & couldn't be happier with our choice. Frankly, I have no idea how they sell any Tahoes/Yukons when there's something like the Sequoia out there.
I have been saying this for years. Maybe folks will start listening, if it even matters anymore.

What a backwards thing to do. Fucking over the American economy because of politics just makes the Chinese ROFL.
I bought a Nissan Titan almost a year ago, and I refuse to own anything UAW made.

My entire family outlawed UAW cars from our garages years ago, but were starting to consider a big SUV (Tahoe, Escalade). Parents started the test drive process. Now, no more. Time to look at the Toyota Sequoia/Lexus LX.
I love my 4Runner and will NEVER consider a UAW vehicle. |
Jokes on them. Obama won and he'll let them fail now. Those bailouts were vote insurance, and the UAW are now expendable.

Do yourself a favor and buy the better vehicle no matter what company manufactured it. I've generally been of that opinion. I think at this point I'm better off buying a japanese vehicle. Better engines and better overall. I'm done doing anything to help the opposition if I can help it. F*ck em. They made their choice. |
Quoted: I've been screaming this shit to you rubes for years. No UAW No Hollywood No concerts No pro sports Vote with your wallet because we sure hell can't vote ideology anymore... Bingo! Almost my words exactly; they don't give a flying fuck at a rolling donut about how I vote. So, I withhold my money. If they aren't on the same team as me, they don't get my money; particularly sports (pro or collegiate since college sports is just minor league pro), concerts, movies and now Detroit auto companies. Beyond that, they can have a nice day. |
I will not buy a union made car. I wanted to replace my 10 yo truck with an Explorer. Now I plan on keeping it another 4 years.
I will now go out of my way to ensure that I never purchase another union made product unless I am in dire need of a particular item and there is no non-union or foreign made equivelant.

Subaru and Toyota here. I will NEVER buy from the big three again.
