I haven't gotten around to reading the SI swimsuit issue for a long time now, but I'll take Martha Stewart in an age appropriate swimsuit and done up/airbrushed over a transgender model all day, every day and twice on Sunday.

My favorite part of SI swimsuit issue season was in the weeks after reading the angry letters from mothers whose sons "were shocked and frightened" by the scantily clad women, because they didn't know that their sons were actually gay.

ETA: I can't believe I wrote "airbrushed" as if anyone uses print film anymore. Should have said photoshopped.

Pretty sure they pad their subscription numbers to hell. Remember that magazines make most their
money from advertising, not magazine sales.

I'm not into sports at all, and after I moved to my new house three years ago I suddenly started getting
SI delivered, addressed to me. Never subscribed, it wasn't a realtor gift or anything -- and I got it steadily
for three years before it stopped -- and I was never asked to subscribe before it stopped, either.

My guess is they do that to a lot of people to make it looks like SI has a much bigger reach/subscriber
base than they really do.

I still wonder who she pissed off to get tossed in jail? I mean, it’s not like she wasn’t a raging asshole to everyone around her before her arrest, but people in her position don’t normally do hard time (even for tax evasion).
