RINOs aren’t conservatives. I’m to the point now that slim majorities are simply Band-Aids on a severed limb. We do need some bold actions and we need more radical, bold (actual) constitutional conservatives who aren’t prostitutes to lobbyists and bedfellows with Marxist democrats.

Gaetz is doing exactly what 99.87% of GD always bitches about, that nobody does anything, and when somebody takes bold action they fucking capitulate, waffle, and get scared about “losing”. Here’s a hint: we haven’t been winning shit in a long time. I think most Americans with two braincells are starting to understand the Uniparty and the how much they’re getting fucked regardless of Marxist democrats or RINOs in leadership. It’s time to dump a little tea into the RINO cesspool, give the finger to the establishment, and get enough radicals in congress to start bitch-slapping the American-hating democrats. Decorum needs to die.

Statesmanship is a losing strategy. Compromising at the expense of the American taxpayer needs to come to an end. Negotiating with the enemy (democrats) should be verboten. Tolerating RINOs should be punished, it’s time for actual conservative radicals to go RINO hunting and start putting heads on stakes. I want fighters not compromisers…politics needs to get as ugly as our economy, border, crime stats, inflation, and corrupt bureaucracies.

Fuck Mcarthy he lost any respect he had ever had.

Respect the seat?  Like the Dems respect it?

Anyone who sits in that seat has to EARN the respect that seat can give the seat holder, that respect is not automatically given and if you think so you are misguided.

Did you respect Pelosi when she sat in that very seat and tore up Trumps state of the union address?

If you did you are a fool.

I suspect no one can sit in that seat. Gaetz is pretty unpopular. Not clear who would get enough votes. We'll see.

He got 96% of the Republican vote. A new speaker can only lose 4 votes, so if even 3 others vote with McCarthy they don't get elected.

Welcome to political reality. The 8 nutters may have been able to unseat McCarthy with the help of the Democrats, but the Democrats won't help them elect a speaker. McCarthy's voting block is way bigger than 8.

So is maga's.

The establishmentarians need to accept they aren't able to wag the dog anymore.

Just because they've got enough power to block doesn't mean they have enough power to install.

That puts them and maga on equal footing and they need to agree on what to do.  They hate that, but fuck them.  They're the problem that maga was created to fight against.  If they'd been doing their jobs from the get, maga wouldn't have become a thing.

Maga rose to break the backs (metaphorically) of the establishment and get them out or force them to actually fight the left.  We do not care if the establishment likes us.  We only care that they stop being turd-buckets.  We are done "going along to get along."  That mindset is how we got the spineless establishmentarians that sell out to the Dems as quickly and often as they can.

Compromising with Dems is “statesmanship” and “politics”

We’re told hourly that we HAVE to compromise since the Rs only have the house .

Compromising with the MAGA wing of the party is absolutely not allowed .

Everyone wants to call Gaetz a traitor , and demand he compromises with Dems on fucking America over .

All those same people never bat an eye that their own dem lite reps won’t compromise with fellow Rs .

It's the other way around: You don't end up being speaker without allies. It's a reality

Look at the way Nancy Pelosi ran the House when she was Speaker. Did she compromise? Did she "reach across the aisle"? Hell no. She was focussed like a laser on moving the Marxist agenda ahead. Spent her whole life moving the ball down the field and left it to the Republicans to compromise. And every time the Republicans compromised we lost. Pelosi had bigger balls than all the Republican members of the House combined.

The Republicans need to find their balls, and McCarthy couldn't find his, if he ever had them.  The country cannot survive business as usual in the Government. Somehow, somewhere, the Republicans have to make a stand.

Every time there is a threat of a Government shutdown the Republicans curl into the fetal position and whine "please don't say mean things about me" before they cave and give the Democrats everything they want.

I've had enough of the Republican business as usual bullshit. Kudos to Gaetz.

Lol. While there is certainly some truth to that for your RINO heroes, there are other factors such as seniority and tradition that these people go along with because they are told to, so they can be in the club. But, you'll obviously deny that the Speaker holds control and power over subordinates, I guess. MTG will continue to slobber on his knob, I'm sure (as one example).

I'm happy to see McCarthy out and I spent a fair amount of time petitioning my representative to not vote for him until he agreed to meet Gaetz's concessions when he was first elected; however to say that he didn't fulfill any of those promises is false.  His first 3 months in the Speaker's chair almost had me thinking we were wrong about him.

Unfortunately the next 6 he showed his true colors and here we are.

@RR_Broccoli, what do you mean by "It's our party, we are taking it from back from the shitheads."

Do you attend your local REC meetings? Are you a party chairperson or precinct chair? Do you go to your state party's quarterly meetings? Do you belong to any committees or caucuses? Simply being a reliable Republican-centric voter who consistently pull the lever for a candidate with an R next to the name doesn't make one a Republican.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Something that many here fail you realize. The mess we have in our State Capitols and in Washington DC lies at the feet of the American people. Government is the symptom, the voter is the disease. Their collective laziness, apathy, and "can't someone else do it" attitude is why we have the mess we have.

It isn't up to the elected officials we put into office to fix the problems we have. It is responsibility of "WE THE PEOPLE."

Everything is local, how many here go to their local City or County meetings? How many go to their State Capitol? How many go to the townhall open forum meetings with their Representative and Senators?

Simply voting ain't enough. Being a reliable Republican-centric voter ain't enough. YOU HAVE TO GET INVOLVED. Hold your elected officials' feet to the fire. Call them out for their failures.

I swear, many here need to read this book and really grasp how to fight the good fight politically.

Or maybe there’s just more than one kind
This sort of monkey business is common with people running for president.   We probably just never get to see or hear about the lower offices
And when the campaign is over having lost, most of these politicians use the fundraising money that’s left over for their own personal use.   They just know how to move it around so they don’t get busted for moving right into their bank accounts.

How long does it take for an inactive thread to be archived? To wit, how often does a thread need to be bumped to prevent it being archived? No reason, just wondering.

To be fair, this IS probably the GOP going off the rails to them. Those guys aren't wanting for the same outcome that we are. Obviously they are fine with the status quo.
