Romney’s own words. He signed the permanent AWB in 2004 in MA. Try and spin all you want. His actions speak clearly.
Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts," Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmen's groups and gun safety advocates. "These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people." Like the federal assault weapons ban, the state ban, put in place in 1998, was scheduled to expire in September. The new law ensures these deadly weapons, including AK-47s, UZIs and Mac-10 rifles, are permanently prohibited in Massachusetts no matter what happens on the federal level. |

It was rough for gun owners in Massachusetts since 1998? Yep. Romneys 2004 law made many aspects of gun ownership better. The NRA (among other gun rights groups) described Romneys governorship as a victory for gun rights. Romneys 2004 law made some aspects of gun ownership better. For instance, the 1998 law criminalized gun rights for life over a misdemeanor. Romneys 2004 law created a legal pathway (that did not exist before) for them to get their gun rights back. Certainly an un-arguable victory, among other positives in Romneys law. It is rough for gun owners in Massachusetts. It has been tough for gun owners since the comprehensive AWB in 1998. But you cannot blame Romney for that... The argument is that Romney expanded gun rights. Most certainly did for those who had lost gun rights for life over a misdemeanor. The argument is that Romney was able to increase gun rights, but Trump has only restricted gun rights. That is an honest statement. |

He lied at least twice then....how was either case honoring his oath? Did Romney move to the political-right on issues important to the political-right? Yep. Gay marriage and abortion... And Romney has consistently defended gun rights, and consistently called for lower spending... The list is pretty long on what Romney has moved to the solid political-right on. Romney has moved to the political right. There is no excuse for his previous positions. But I will defend the ideals and platform of the political-right. I oppose gay marriage. Always have. I oppose abortion. It is murder. I always have. Romney, while a conservative religious leader, talked a woman out of an abortion, and attempted to talk another who ended up killing her kid in an abortion, and she left The Church, became a liberal, and attacks Romney for Romneys hardcore conservative religious beliefs and Romneys decision to try to save the baby. I support life. And I support Romneys move to the right. I will take anyone on the political right. On the same token. Trump, who says he is a Democrat, and I believe him... Moved to the political-left with his, "take the guns first," anti-gun agenda. Trump claims on one hand to support gun rights, then criminalizes gun parts possession on the other. That is a move to the political left. Something I cannot support. Trump moved to the political-left with his amnesty, "deal." Trump gave swaths of legal protections and incentives to illegal immigrants. Trumps cover-fire for his move to the political-left on immigration is that Trump got 26 miles of, "bollard fence," he falsely calls his, "wall." That is a move to the political left. A clear move to the political left. Romney moved to the political right. Trump moved --clearly-- to the political left, all while shouting he was moving right... Trump moved left on immigration, gun rights, and the cost and size of government... Romney moved right. Trump moved left. |

Mods, just give this thing a mercy shot. View Quote No one is calling anyone names. No one is hitting below the belt... Do folks want to hear that it isn't awesome that Trump signed amnesty and gun control? Nope. Is Romney --who couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag-- popular here for pointing-out Trumps flaws? Nope. But no one is insulting anyone. No one is calling anyone names. No one is hitting below the belt... Trump is breaking campaign promise after campaign promise. He is not doing what we elected him to do. Some of Trumps, "take the guns first," followers don't want to hear criticisms for Trumps political move to the left on gun rights and immigration... But as long as we discuss Trumps move left, and Trumps failures honestly and openly... I see no reason to try to call-in mods. No one is breaking the rules. Trumps, "take the guns first," followers are following the rules. I am following the rules... There is no reason to be scared or frightened of honest and open discussion. Mods... Please keep this thread open. No one is breaking the rules. No one is hitting below the belt. No one is calling names... |

If you really think that signing a permanent AWB and then asking for more gun control is the “greatest victory” there is no help for you. “The bill was the greatest victory for gun owners since the passage of the gun control laws in 1998..).” View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
If you really think that signing a permanent AWB and then asking for more gun control is the “greatest victory” there is no help for you. “The bill was the greatest victory for gun owners since the passage of the gun control laws in 1998..).” There had been no hope for gun owners since 1998. Those words are correct. Romneys 2004 law expanded gun rights. Quoted:
It’s a complete failure. Overturning the AWB would be a victory. But you don’t see that. Set the bar so high, Romney can't reach it. Romney did not do *enough* so that justifies someone like Trump who has actually restricted gun rights... Did Romney expand gun rights in MA? Absolutely, yes. Did Romney do enough? Nope. Not in a million years. What was the worst aspect of the 1998 MA AWB... In my opinion it was not magazine capacity restrictions, even though that was bad, the worst restriction was eliminating all gun rights for life over misdemeanors. One DUI in MA could mean a loss of gun rights for life. Romney created a legal pathway for them to get their gun rights back... Perfect? Nope. Not in a million years. An expansion of gun rights? Absolutely, yes. |

When the first word out of your mouth in defending Romney is “Trump” every time you might need to work on actual defense of Romney. Stop talking about Trump. View Quote Especially when Romneys fiercest critics for Romneys move to the political-right come from, "take the guns first," Trump supporters who defend and support Trumps move (back) to the political-left on gun rights, immigration, and the size and cost of Government. Romney is not perfect, not in a million years. But it could be worse... It could be amnesty and, "take the guns first," worse... |

That's the sailor's way Faster faster, faster faster There's no earthly way of knowing Which direction we are going There's no knowing where we're rowing Or which way the river's flowing Is it raining, is it snowing Is a hurricane a-blowing Not a speck of light is showing So the danger must be growing Are the fires of Hell a-glowing Is the grisly reaper mowing Yes, the danger must be growing For the rowers keep on rowing And they're certainly not showing Any signs that they are slowing |

Romney is a Globalist Scumbag in the same vein as Bush and McCain. If elected, he would have resurrected the push for the North American Union.
Fighting the advance of Globalism is the number one important issue facing America. Once America relinquishes its sovereignty to a Corporatocratic-Multi-National Super-state... you can kiss the *ENTIRE* Bill of Rights goodbye. |

I definitely hate him more than an honest liberal. He is a duplicitous cunt, a whiney faggot who didn't win the game so he turns over the board. But because he says it in a cultured voice people think he deserves some respect. I went to prep school with cunts like him and I would tell him to his face with all the disdainful haughtiness I could muster from my memory or 6 years of asshole like him in school. He visited my work once........ I was off that day.
I swear. He (and other Rinos) needs to shut up and work with Trump to help fix the big issues... Is Trump perfect?......no.... but who is... we had the house and senate and still didn’t get jack shit done. If they focused on working together instead of taking shots at Trump we would be much better off. |
