Is that thing for real?  I'm surprised the little turbo jets can develop enough thrust for the take-off roll.
It doesn't look like it weighs much more than a roll of toilet paper.

"The TJ 20 is a small turbojet engine designed for UAV systems, such as target drones and decoy drones, in order to confuse enemy air defenses and small reconnaissance drones. It has the advantage of having  a weight of only 4.37 lb. (1.98 kg)  and a thrust of 51.7 lbf (230 N). It comes with electric starting, a fuel pump and a sparkplug built into the casing of the combustion chamber – the ideal components for UAV systems."

Prototype for a Russian trainer (KB SAT SR-10).

I kind of like the one they picked instead:

They're still pushing the SR-10 as an intermediate trainer but I can't see that happening with the Yak-130 being so successful, but who knows...

Had to.do a double take on the landing gear configuration.   Thought it was a tail dagger at first since the nose gear wasn't obvious.   The angle of the photo makes the nose gear hidden against the right main gear.

Sadly the tail broke off under heavy G-loading on the race course.

I saw her at Oshkosh in '98? Somewhere I have a picture of myself with her.

From around the same time, Wayne Handley's turbo Raven:

Isn’t the bottom picture from a restoration under way?

Any progress on that?
