Gonna try to complete my orientation course for my Master’s degree tonight after everyone goes home. That’s the last step before I officially pick my classes and get this party started.  I just finished orientation a couple days ago. It's not hard. Be sure to listen to everything at 1.5x speed or 2x speed if offered. I never finished mine, and figured now is the time. Same reasons you put forward, really.Except I'll probably never manage to finish my degree. 
But it still probably won't happen, unless the online degree program thing is significantly different from everything else  What school are you doing this through?
