Pot is somewhat cheap and widely accessible compared to things like heroin and meth. Of course they're going to have a cheap, easy drug in their system. I also bet they had alcohol and nicotine too.

People with dibilitating mental health issues will medicate however they can
And when they decide the check out by overdose, why not take a toke to ease the anxiety before popping or shooting up whatever drug y which they will leave the world. Accidental ODs too, I imagine, what, barbiturates/opiates being the most common drugs OD on? Toke up in between the hard stuff because MJ is cheaper? Numb the pain however. |

I don't think that people overdose on marijuana. I do get tired of all the blather about it being natural and therefore harmless physically. I know an individual who died of cancer. His ENT specialist and oncologist were both baffled that he didn't smoke to the point of asking him multiple times and asking family if he had a history of smoking at any point. I guess his cancer was very strongly associated with smoking. And he wasn't entirely lying, he never smoked cigarettes, he just didn't want to admit to smoking marijuana for years. More or less harmful than other things? I don't know. But the entire line about it being benign except the high that proponents drum out with every discussion is horse shit.
