OG Arfcom might remember American Spirit, but they (or just Bob) were more psychotic than cringe.

I might have seen one of their G3 clones. It looked like sub Khyber Pass quality. If their AR lowers aren't completely useless then I suppose someone could build a perfectly fine gun out of one. I seem to also recall hearing that their FALs could be decent. |

Quoted: Pricing did kind of kill it for me with KAC I get they used to carry a premium price but now they are priced at a level that is just mind boggling. When they were priced the same as other premium brands the excuse was "but muh proprietary" It is interesting to watch the arguments change over time. |

Pizza Cutter Suppressors: All edge, no point. |

View Quote THAT'S the one I was trying to remember. Ahhh the early 2000's. Those were the days. |

I've seen Black Rain rifles in the store but never owned or fired one or known anyone who did.
What's the deal with them? Are they poor quality? Overpriced? |

Quoted: Noveske post John. Not even close. And I’ve got a Noveske carbine View Quote Out of the one's one normally wouldn't expect to be at the top of that list, Noveske has pretty much put itself there. I have a N4 that John built for me back in 06', with a 17-4 SSS barrel. After that, John died, and later, a couple of their CHF barrel's that I built into uppers. After that, no thanks Jay |

Their website showed a guy in gear with a $15 bb gun. Whoever used to make the magnesium lowers. View Quote Hang on now: Plum Crazy never took themselves seriously. I mean, they put “crazy” right in their name. Why crazy? POLYMER crazy, that’s why. Not just polymer lowers, they even moulded complete fire-control groups out of their polymer. Crazy idea? Hmmm - let’s unpack that: - Glock introduced a polymer handgun in the 1980s; rumor has it: the gun actually works! - the original M-16 had polymer furniture, and the jokes are still flying about the “plastic gun” more than 50 years later, - the Steyr AUG uses a FCG made of polymer; also not exactly a new design (ie it works) Plum Crazy did not make every part of the lower out of polymer to prove it was “the best” (and they were not the first, nor the last). They never claimed to be the best, AFAIK. They did it to prove it could be done, and they did it in a non-serious (but effective) way. I would not lump them in with incompetent schiesters like Hesse/Blackthorn/Vulcan. |
