Agree. Also helped sell a ton of milsurp Mauser. I remember going to gun shows after that movie came out and you could buy Mosins and Mausers for under $100.

Good one!

I'd actually wondered if Colt bringing back the Python was in some part "The Walking Dead" related.

Jurassic World did more for the SBL than Wind River did.. that just was a resurgence 2 years later.  After we walked out of Jurassic World I told my wife I needed an SBL sooner than later.. never got one in time... ended up getting the 1895 Classic... which I really like.

Wind River made the marlin 45-70 SBL unobtainable for a while, then the whole sale to Ruger extended that.  Good thing is, it’s a better gun now.

Quoted: I know right, this right here. And it's such a trash gun too, Walther should just let it die but I bet it makes them a ton of money. The gun just flat out sucks! It's a weak caliber but it's loud and recoils like a bigger gun. The sights are pure dog shit. If the hammer doesn't bite your hand the slide will, and your knuckle will probably bash on the trigger guard. What a piece of crap gun but it does look nice though.

People building clones of Gary Gordon's rifle from Black Hawk Down is really the only widespread one that I can think of. It's mostly for a fun gun though.

I bought a USPc because Jack Bauer carried one in 24.

I know someone who was around at the time and said they almost couldn’t give away Model 29s when they first came out - .44 Magnum is just too spicy a cartridge to be useful to anyone except somebody headed out into the woods in bear country. But then Dirty Harry hit theaters, and suddenly there was a six-month waiting list to get one.

Also Max Payne was a wet shit of a movie and didn't influence Judge sales as much as fudds in gun shops in my opinion.

I hung out in a buddies gun shop at the height of the Judge thing . Nobody said anything about the movie but they all had themselves talked into the Judge for self defense . As far as I could see it had use as a snake gun and shooting rats inside a barn.

Taurus sure sold a shit load of those useless things for all the wrong reasons
Another silly trend that I would think was based on some movie were the Mossberg shotguns with the silly barrel shrouds  chainsaw  handgrips and muzzle devices . My buddy would order all the silly stuff and he couldn't keep them in stock

That's intentional due to the Mini-14 "cone of dispersion" by throwing wide patterns, the Mini-14 insured the A-Team keep the bad guys heads down, but didn't kill them.
