Also there's no way to keep a gun concealed in that situation. Maybe a BUG in some baggy-ass carpenter jeans but some of us don't walk around looking like extras on the job site. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Why take the gun off to bowl? I wouldn't and haven't. Outside of places where I don't really have a choice legally, the only time I take it off is to go in the water. You're correct you can't be paying complete attention all the time and you can always get distracted but at least have the tools on you. That way when you hear the first shots you can snap back. I take it you don't bowl or at least not don't appendix carry, more than a beginners approach and you'd know wearing a concealed pistol anywhere on your waste would be an issue. I carry right side at 3:00 and I've bowled with the gun in that normal position 3:00 many times. No I don't bowl seriously and regularly. Just once in awhile less and less over the years. But I have bowled plenty of times armed. If I bowl more, I wouldn't change my habits. If I print or someone sees it oh well. I try to conceal but I don't obsess over it. Being armed is more important then offending someone. If its illegal, then I totally get abstaining. |

Bryan MacFarlane, 40, was participating in a cornhole tournament at Schemengees Bar and Grille Restaurant when he was killed during Wednesday's mass shooting in Lewiston, his sister Keri Brooks told CNN. MacFarlane, who's part of the local deaf community, usually goes to Schemengees on Wednesdays where other deaf people gather to play cornhole, Brooks said. https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/lewiston-maine-shootings-active-shooter-10-25-23/h_63968cfacbf19b333364c83db3f27ca5 |

Quoted: Nope, not a way if you're an advanced bowler.....Any gun concealed on your waistband would be seen by other bowlers pretty easily. A Miami rig with overshirt maybe but that would be cumbersome as fuck bowling, I'm guessing your idea of bowling is breaking a 100? Go watch some videos of pros and even advanced league bowlers, not sure where you'd have the gun on you where other bowlers wouldn't see it. Best option would be a BUG in some baggy pants or keeping it in your bag nearby. Don't tell me your have a shower or shitter gun? Quoted: Quoted: In my latest active shooter training we were actually taught to do anchor shots. We were told it is now state policy, put out by our Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, that any son of a bitch that tries to kill kids in a school in Florida is not going to survive the attempt. The thinking is we will be by ourselves until law enforcement arrives so we have to make sure the attacker is dead in case there is a second attacker we have to go deal with. I had same training It was a bit of a shock after over twenty years in the business to be told we are NOT shooting to stop the threat, we are shooting to kill. I understand and have even advocated for a more "infantry" mindset dealing with active shooters, but I never expected to be told by an LEO trainer at an official class that it is now state policy. |

Hear muffs are bad When I was young, I did hallucinogens and that is exactly how it worked. All ambient conversations turned into being about me. Like everyone was talking amongst themselves about me. Then, as I was probably acting strange, they would look at me, then of course my mind took that as confirmation that they had indeed been talking about me. |

They were at ECT at west point training cadets when he went a little fucko. The state police were called in, and the end result was him being hospitalized. West Point does not have a mental health facility, and he was transferred to a civilian hospital and held for 2 weeks. After release, he threatened to shoot up the saco Reserve Center during September's drill. The COC is shitting bricks right now and are trying to figure out how to cover there asses. Edit: When I talked to my buddy, he was heading in a meeting with the BC and other relevant leadership to try and figure out what to do. Some things he brought up were: -The unit facebook page has been shut down because news outlets were using it to contact soldiers in the unit. -The BC RFI'd my buddy on the COA for when the dude is killed by the cops. Does he get a military funeral? -the dudes first sausage is sweating bullets. I'm not sure the reasoning. My buddies phone was blowing up while talking to him. I'll update more when and if he gets a chance to talk. On a side note, my va councilor and my grammother lives 5 minutes from where he swapped vehicles. I think the leadership is sweating due to what they did or didn't do after his release. They are probably fine. However, they are about to be held under a microscope on a national scale. This event will certainly affect an oer/ncoer, so I bet they are trying to ensure that they did, in fact, take all the necessary actions. It is hard to manage soldiers in the reserves. As a leader, you can't do much unless they are at drill or on orders. For instance, you can't confiscate his firearms. When I was in, I had a soldier who decided to Don his full battle rattle and march down the city streets with an AR at 2 in the morning. The cops took his firearms, and we got him a mental health profile. If the cops didn't confiscate his guns, the profile would be useless because the 90% he's at home he would have access to firearms. Is it true his weapon was taken from the unit arms room? I keep seeing that on Twitter. |

They have some design problmes that need to be addressed . They don't look right for use. They moved the gun forward in the pants so it is more to the inside of the thigh. No problem with comfort and use; but the weight of the psitol will pull the front of the pants at the closure down from under your belt. It look stupid. I have a seamstress working on a solution and if it works I will share with them. |

I'm not sure if it was illegal or not in this case. I do think a baggy t shirt would likely cover up the gun to most even while bowling. Some people that really know what to look for like cops might know but most non gun people probably wouldn't. If you are wearing t fitting clothes sure it'll be pretty obvious. |
