A bigger problem is the democrat legislature in both chambers. If they didn't have a Democrat lock on everything Mills wouldn't be able to do anything.

Around half the Democrats in the Maine senate rejected gun control a few months back. A large portion in the house did, but it advanced by a 1 vote margin before being killed by the senate. In 2016 they had a ballot vote, and turned down UBCs and I believe red flag laws by around 4-5% margins.

Though I expect a large portion of those Democrats to flip their stance now. But it seems like the Democrats up there are can be pro-gun and seem to be more of the working class, blue collar types.

If true about two shots, he could've "convulsed" or something and bump-fired (for lack of a better term). I've done that before, albeit, many years ago.

There have been multiple instances where this theory was brought up in murder cases, where the defense tried to argue double-firing in proposed suicides. These defenses never resulted in an acquittal or dismissal of charges.

I had a neighbor who shot himself in the head twice when he tried to commit suicide. It was a .22 though. He flinched on the first shot, and the bullet grazed his head. The second shot was too far forward. He blinded himself, and survived.

From what I've read, flinching while committing suicide with a firearm isn't unusual. There are stories about people blowing their face off, and surviving the attempt. There was a study in the late 1980s where a gun ban increased the number of successful suicides in a region, while the total number of attempts didn't change. People started jumping off buildings. It's tough to miss the ground when jumping.

Some suicides have watched TV so put the gun to the front of their temple (from the side) and fuck up the front of the head (usually blinding them) without killing them.

Second Shot into the core of the Brain then usually seals the deal.

We had an inmate that tried a shotgun under the chin. Got the angle wrong and just took his chin, face, and eyes. They managed to get him back together well enough to talk, eat, and be somewhat presentable. No eyes though.
