My P226 is the first full size 9mm I bought.  I'd wanted one since I was a kid playing the Rainbow Six games.  It's a tank, but it's a fun gun to carry and shoot.

M9.  Carried one in the Army, like carrying a brick, super smooth shooter.

This & 2 Glock 17.

I’d like to say Belgian High Power, but it really doesn’t fit my hand & points off target.

For iron sights, I most enjoy a 9mm 1911.

Staccato 2011 with red dot is most enjoyable for me overall.

This...9mm through a 1911 may not be right, but I understand

Glock 19 is only full size 9mm needed. Then rest of 9mm stable could be filled with any of the very many subcompacts available today.

The Glock 19 is a compact. The 17 is the full sized 9mm.

Well, if budget allows, the Staccato XC is a bad ass pistol.

Mine wears a Leupy DPP.

My only criticism is that it is too difficult to stop shooting.

CZ makes great full size pistols, in terms of ergos, great triggers, and accuracy. I just can’t run the slides on them like I need/want to. I’ve got gorilla paws for hands, and the reduced surface area of CZ’s slides prohibits me from getting a good, consistent purchase on them.

If it wasn’t for that, I’d have a dozen of them.

If someone asked me the bare essentials of a postwar 9mm service pistol collection, I'd say

P-38/P-1
High Power
CZ 75
Sig P226
Beretta 92
H&K USP
Glock 17, the earlier generation the better
S&W 5906 or earlier S&W auto.

If going further back, add a Luger.

LMAO, it's not a full size nor is it the only one that could be needed.

I really like my SP01 a lot.

But I love, love, LOVE my CZ75SA. It ribs rings around my SP01.

I want to like the Beretta 92s, but the M9 I had in the army was so clapped out and shitty that I have a bad taste still in my mouth from it. I bet if I just sucked it up and bought a good copy, I'd probably dig it, but it's almost like PTSD to think about the beater I was issued.

Compact, not full sized. A P228 is a compact, kind of like a G19.

My first Sig would have been one of those but my FFL lost his license.  It was the early 90's when Clinton was doing his best to shut all of them down.  I ended up with a P228 made in West Germany, that I still have.

I still don't have a "full size" 9 mm. I have a P220 in 45 acp and a G20 obviously in 10 mm, but no full sized 9.

Shooting clapped out M9s actually made me more impressed with them, because I never had a malfunction not caused by a broken or severely worn out part. And they were always still so smooth.

They're all the same gun at heart; the different models just deterkine whether or not they are optic ready, have a rail, mag release location, vertec or original grip, and threaded barrel or no.

I absolutely love my Wilson Combat wcp-320 acro cut low mount standard height sights with steiner mps (given up on ever getting the wait list email for an acro) , stainless guide rod and 12.5lb spring. After running a g19 or 1911 for 20+ years it was a huge upgrade for me.

Any popular competition gun is gonna be a treat to shoot, in my experience. P320 X5 Legion/Max, Shadow2, Q5 SF, 92X Performance, a good 2011, etc.

I think the biggest revelation to Glock users is how much all the extra weight soaks up recoil.
