Fantastic!
Glad you found your F100! I have my Dad's 69, 360 2 barrel, auto with disc brakes. Looking for a new wheel and tire setup Attached File |

Mine was a 73 F100 Ranger. Two-tone, brown over baby-shit orange. My dad has some awesome taste...

Awesome!
My Dad was a paving contractor in the late 60's and early 70's in San Marcos Tx, until a health crisis hit him at an early age.. It was 2nd through 8th grade for me. Very formative years. He daily drove a 1972 F-250 and also had a 1970 red one ton flat bed dually, set up specifically for a goose neck. Those memories have always stuck with me. That is why my classic is set up as a work truck homage. I would rather of had a Ford, but fate took me to the Chevy and that's ok too. Black Betty is truly a fantastic looking truck! I love it! And it makes me remember my Dad.....thanks. |

Quoted: My dad bought me a 1969 Ford F100 when I was almost 15. It was already painted black when I got it and had gray tweed interior. I went through a couple engines in it being your typical high school kid doing magnificent burnouts lol. A few years after high school I traded it to a buddy for a mustang with the intentions of buying it back but never did. He sold it in ‘06 and I lost track of it. I’ve fished around for it off and on and when my dad died 4 years ago I really wanted it back. The buddy I sold it to was going through some old paperwork and found the guys info that he sold it to and called. Turns out the guy still had it and had kept it in his barn down In Stephenville for the last 14 years with the exception of a few short trips around the block and letting his son take it to prom. It’s been driven less than 500 miles since I sold it. He did have the interior redone as it is now which I have no complaints about. I made the trip down to Stephenville on Wednesday and talked him out of it and brought it home. First thing I did was washed the barn dust off of it, shined the tires, and took my wife for a spin. It’s got drum brakes in all 4 corners and they are a little squirrelly after the years so it’s gonna get disc brakes all the way around. Gents, meet Black Betty. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/420595/4D497103-3337-4C18-BEC5-89529E250FCE_jpe-1498508.JPG https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/420595/1436E95A-05CC-4A6A-B3D5-5F38C6EBBD30_jpe-1498511.JPG https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/420595/AF72DD90-EB0F-4041-865A-2ADCDE41863E_jpe-1498512.JPGhttps://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/420595/4728F403-6CE0-4901-839B-E60B8B4370DB_jpe-1498513.JPGhttps://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/420595/E0AF45EC-A7C2-43DE-BC81-FD5338818A6E_jpe-1498514.JPG View Quote cool story cool pics love the truck congrats |

1970 Ford Truck Commercial - Featuring it's Twin "I" Beam Suspension What I remember about F100 pickup trucks. |

Any of y’all F-100 enthusiasts know where I can find wheels like these? I’ve also seen more dome shaped caps instead of being stamped.
I’m thinking about either painting my 59 Academy Blue but adding metal flakes. Attached File |

View Quote Twin I beams are very rugged but it sure doesn't ride as smooth as it looks in that video. My F100 has always felt like you're riding in an old truck. Plus, an alignment lasts about three minutes but it doesn't seem to matter much anyway. ETA grammar |

I like the old Fords. My neighbor has a 70's Highboy. Always wanted one after growing in rural America and helping my neighbor out who always had one. I settle for my 1995 Ford Bronco that I fixed up.
Your truck is very nicely restored, OP! |

View Quote Nice truck, I've seen that pic before. It's red twin rolls around my town. |

I had a 1977 F-100 Custom that I inherited when my Dad died. It was Carolina blue and white. He had put a cap on it and we went camping in the year before he passed away.
Having a pickup truck on a college campus makes you very popular when someone needs to move! A few years later I made the mistake of trading it in on a used 1980 Suburban. My wife thought that was better for us because it had 4x4. Bad, bad mistake. |

I learned to drive a manual in my grandmas ‘69 F-100 Ranger farm truck. 390 with 3 on the tree. Every few years she’d repaint it with house paint, LoL.

Beautiful!
Congrats on getting it back. Please tell us about it. Engine? Transmission? Just noticed it's a short bed. Talk about a popular truck. |
|
Damn that's a beautiful truck. Those lines. That interior. Damn.

I have a 1970? F100 that has been in storage for 15 years. It was my grandfathers. It was in a barn and not driven for the last 7 years of his life. It was a farm truck. Not abused, but nothing special either. Are they worth anything? It has the 6-cylinder engine.

I had a 71 and 72 around 1989-90 when I was a teenager. Both standard trans; I believe it was the 71 that was three on the tree. Lineage would occasionally jam up and you’d have to pull over and fiddle with it.
