TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey’s top lawmakers unveiled sweeping gun legislation Thursday that would significantly restrict when and where guns can be carried outside of the home, a bill they touted as “the nation’s strongest measure concerning concealed carry.” The bill would, among other things, require people wanting to carry guns in public to purchase liability insurance — the first statewide mandate of its kind in the nation should the bill become law — and banning guns from being carried in 25 broad categories, including but not limited to government buildings, health care facilities, airports, casinos and private properties where the owners have not given express permission to have guns. Violations would be deemed a third-degree crime... View Quote |

Honestly? Give us the strongest test cases you can while the court makeup is in our favor. The more case law we can establish now the better.

There are a lot of decent poor people, and they have just as much of a right to protect themselves as anyone else. In fact, I’d say they need it even more because they’re more likely to be victims of violent crime than rich or middle class folks. |

The coastal confederacy states have been in FULL Kim Davis mode since the SCOTUS decision. In their new law, they want to require insurance to carry. IIRC they already passed a law a few years ago banning insurance for carry. |

View Quote As always this is why the right needs to propose legislation requiring these same requirements to free speech, the right to vote, etc. It tells everyone that the left believes that the second is in fact a secondary right. |

The Left does not understand the word NO.
They are spoiled, rotten children. Only whats important to them is sacred. |

This is 'Rats being 'Rats. This is exactly what the 'Rats did when the courts told them to desegregate. It was one long series of defiant acts that were ultimately smacked down - hard.

If it’s anything like the CCIA in NY, there’s hope that it’ll go down in flames.

Most people living in NJ dont mind those laws, and the few that do should move to a state that more politically aligns with them...If everyone did that, there would be less issues overall...I am doing that exact thing ASAFP....

Quoted: Interesting. What other constitutional rights require insurance to exercise or can be denied by a property owner? View Quote None for the insurance. If I tell you that you're allowed on my property only if you don't talk, I can do that because it's my property (as in "not yours"). I'm not forcing you to be on my property. This includes "public accommodations" (which was an evil invention and taking). |
