Out in some small rural town in eastland county. Parents also picked up a place nearby. Good conservative people. I just went down to visit last month. Contrary to the impression this forum gives, Texas treated me well. Everyone noticed an accent but generally after I told them that I wasn't from California they were alright with me. |

After having a couple new neighbors move in from Texas, and after my observations the stereo types are not wrong.
One of them while moving in before the POD was even emptied put up a Texas state flag, Texas flag is no longer up after being told if it is so great why are you here or why don't you go back then. |

Never ask a man where he's from. If he's from Texas, he'll let you know. If not, you don't want to embarrass him in front of his woman.
Gotta be honest though, I've lived in several different states, and loved most of them. West Virginia was incredible. Folk in Georgia were outstanding. New Mexico was a great state. But Texas will always be home. Always. |

Grandparents came from the Panhandle and west Central TX. Still have family by birth or marriage from DFW down to the Gulf Coast. But it's getting thin TBH. My neighbor is from Tx. Corpus....got tired of boarding up and evacuating every year due to storms.
We have happy hour every Friday and most Thursdays.
I never thought I could meet a woman that was more of a gun person than I am. I have lent her guns more than once because she likes diversity in her curriculum.
