First, some great pictures there. Wonder what they were up to in some of them. Second, remember that not all Nazis were German, and not all Germans were Nazis. Hitler for example was Austrian, he was fucking Austrian! Third, they killed an awful lot of communist pigs, so be thankful for that. As bad as the Nazis were (10-15 million deaths due to the holocaust), Stalin is beleived to have killed between as 'few' as 20 million to as many as 60 million people. Nice guy, huh? You just never hear about it for some reason...Oh wait, because FDR sided with him... Now don't get me wrong, I'd shoot Hitler in the face with a shotgun if you gave me the chance, but I'd shoot Stalin first...And then Uncle Ho, Mao See Dung, and so on. Also, the invasion of France was probably a good thing too...It's France, people...C'mon... Well they did ask for it when they declared war and all. |

No matter their color, creed, or flag, soldiers share a common bond:

Quoted: Quoted: I pray history doesn't say this about us...They knew what was happening. There is no argument against that. They knew what was happening and they allowed it. They allowed themselves to be taken over by madness. They are just as guilty. Unless things change, it most definitely will. History is written by the winners. Much of this country has given in to being non-self-sufficient welfare pussies. IF the Chinese win, America will be remembered just like the Nazis. Or the Romans (the negatives, like pedophilia, etc...) |

I'm Jewish. I had many family members murdered by the Nazis. I also had family members who were Warsaw Ghetto fighters and fought back against the Nazis. So actually, I would have been on the front lines fighting them. I think what he was saying is that you would have served in the German army if you had grown up as a German born around the time of WW1. Quoted:
They aimed to conquer the world and either enslave or murder anyone who was not like them. This included anyone who did not look, think, act, worship, or have the same lineage as them. That isn't true. I don't think Germans ever had intents of world conquest, including the Nazis. They wanted to unify the German people, world conquest was not a goal and not a capability there were developing. Of course, it is hard to say for sure how things would have played out, invading Norway, North Africa and the Baltics were not part of their origional plan. Quoted:
Were the Soviets just as bad? Sure. Should we have fought them after the war? That's a debate for the historians. We did fight them in the Cold War. Yes, for the most point it wasn't a shooting war but it was a real war nontheless. I think the Soviets were the bigger threat, due to the internationalism of the USSR. I think communism required the Soviets to confront us, their system could not freely exist alongside ours. The nazis could exist along side us, since they allowed a large portion of the free market to remain, and their ideology was rooted in ethnic myths and such as opposed to class war. Note I'm not arguing who's most evil, I'm making a pragmatic argument over who likely we could coexist with. |

I'm Jewish. I had many family members murdered by the Nazis. I also had family members who were Warsaw Ghetto fighters and fought back against the Nazis. So actually, I would have been on the front lines fighting them. Nazis were evil. Their cause was evil. They aimed to conquer the world and either enslave or murder anyone who was not like them. This included anyone who did not look, think, act, worship, or have the same lineage as them. Kinda sounds like the enemy we are fighting today. There was nothing just about their cause. There was nothing right about their cause. They brought madness and senseless barbarism to the world that ended in the most costly conflict man has ever witnessed. Were the Soviets just as bad? Sure. Should we have fought them after the war? That's a debate for the historians. The bottom line is this: there was nothing good brought to the world by Nazis. The first half of the 20th Century is a shame that will forever mar the German people. Yes; the German people, not just the Nazis. They knew what was happening. There is no argument against that. They knew what was happening and they allowed it. They allowed themselves to be taken over by madness. They are just as guilty. Today's Germans are not the same people. I do not hold a grudge against them. But, the German's of my grandparent's generation... they brought the world's disdain upon themselves. They cannot and should not be forgiven. Were the soviets bad? Sure? Fuck, dude. The soviets made the murders by the nazis look like child's play, but nobody ever pays attention to it for many reasons that aren't popular. I'm not trying to diminish the losses of the Jews, because that deserves to be known, but focusing on just the nazis and saying "yeah, sure, the commies were just as bad" serves only those who are trying to bring back communism today. |

Many of those pics are cool, minus the ones that have SS faggots in them. I am sure that if you grew up in post WWI Germany you would have been leading the resistance movement against Nazism. Oh thats right your ass would have been on the Ost front with the rest of your kameraden. Get over yourself skippy. Where in my post does it say im German? And if it makes any differance to you, my family is Polish descent, so I guess I know what side I would have been on if my family didn't immigrate to the US. |

Quoted: Soldiers are soldiers.... They are alike no matter which flag they fly. They fight for each other whether you believe it or not. Nothing more, nothing less. The assholes are the idiots giving them orders. Yep. I remember reading BoB, the guys were somewhat taken aback when they realized that of all the people they came into contact with during the war, they had the most in common with the Germans. Shifty Powers said exactly that. He was saddened to realize that in different circumstances, he might have hunted or fished with the men he was fighting. |

Even as evil as the Nazi's were, they were still human. Weird to see them humanized. This may be taken the wrong way by some, but we need to be able to see them as human. Otherwise we risk the, "that was just germans", or "that could never happen here" attitude. |

People tend to conveniently forget the fact that not all Germans were Nazi's and not all Nazi's were German. There were more than a few Nazi supporters/sympathizers in the US. People also tend to forget that the Japanese were just as bad, if not worse than the SS. |
