The old FWD Mopars(aka K cars). The turbo/5 speed models would rip. Easy to mod, and parts interchanged across all platforms. To this day, I wish I'd kept my 1989 Dodge Shadow CSX. The reactions when the ricer boys saw the Shelby logo on the rear(usually as I was leaving them behind) were priceless.

I know a guy, that converted a Chevy Beretta to RWD using, essentially the entire powertrain from a Buick Grand National.
It was/is, just as awesome as you can imagine. It is currently owned by one of the original builders best friends, it mostly sits in a garage but it is still very well maintained and is only brought out to prove a point, to an uneducated blowhard. I have driven it, I loved it so much, I almost bought it! |

Quoted: Jesus Christ who would want a Beretta? Biggest shit box GM ever produced. View Quote Ever heard of the Chevette? Or the Citation? I had a ‘95 Beretta GT. I loved that car. The V6 engine gave me zero problems. I had it for five years and the only thing that broke was the power window switch (replaced it twice). We bought it used with 30,000 miles and it had over 100,000 when we traded it in. We even lived out of it for two summers camping our way around the country (took it to 33 states with a big cargo box on the roof - we called it “the hump”). All I had to do to it was regular maintenance and replace the bumper when my wife hit a BMW. It was a good car. |

'73 Pinto. First car, fun to drive. I even painted mine like this.

Back in the mid 80s i bought my wife a barely used Nissan 200SX (Datsun Sylvia). Basically just got the critter for her daily driver/spare car.
The more i drove it, the more i liked it. With just me, and not much weight in the gas tank, i could make that little five speed bark tires in the first three gears. Only had a fourbanger under the hood, but it would haul ass and still got superb gas milage cruising on trips. We put a bazillion miles on it. It was still running when i sold it. Only got rid of it because it rusted out badly. Was a little white hatchback version like this. Attached File |

I don't actively look, but I keep my eyes peeled for a deal on a clean Toyota Cressida. I'd love to find a decent clean one with a good body and make it into a mild to moderate drift missile.

I always loved the way they looked "business sporty". |

I like Nissan Hardbody pickups. They have been overshadowed by Toyota pickups of the same era.
Also first generation Toyota MR-2. Hearing T-VIS kick in was always hilarious. Just a fun car to drive. |

I'd love to have another one in Turbo AWD View Quote I sold this one earlier this year. Loved that car, had one since I was 16, 35 now. I miss it, but it was time, needed a truck due to you know, owning a home and having a family. Looking back I have no idea how I went without one so many years. |

A car I'd wished I'd bought was an old Opel Kadet wagon my brother bought for a work burner back in the early 80s. I think it was a 71 model. God, i think of the use/abuse it suffered and still kept on keeping on.
We used to strap a canoe on top that was longer than the car. :) Late on in his ownership he used it for a hunting wagon. He actually found a set of mudgrip tires for the rear. It never got stuck, served as a bed and i don't know how many deer had been strapped on it's top rack.:) |

A lot of the cars listed here aren't "nothing" cars but actual desirable and even rare cars.

Quoted: There will always be a place in my heart for the Bronco II. Had three of them, they were all fun as hell to drive and were woefully underrated trail rigs. I rarely see them on the road any more. If I found a nice one for low price I'd have a hard time passing it up. 4.0 or 5.0 swap it and be done. https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/c_scale,f_auto,fl_progressive,pg_1,q_80,w_800/hjmiw7os1ecerbjfmspj.jpg View Quote My dad had one til I was 5. He would cruise around in blizzards, pulling folks out of the ditch. I would ride shotgun, happy as a clam, watching my dad rescue folks. I don't remember it but I hear he pulled out some pretty large and quite buried rigs with that little Bronco. |

With some of these responses, it's difficult o figure out what exactly a "nothing" car is. Is it a throwaway car or a limited production car with a fan base around the world?
