The Formula 1 team is only one side of the business, with the automotive arm looking to develop its own high-performance platform for its future 100% electric sports cars – which will see a seven-model range including one future roadster and the all-new A310.

That is part of it.

With Liberty at the helm pushing the franchise model and a new Concorde Agreement approaching, the general consensus is that the ultimate potential valuations should be more in line with other large sports franchises.

Good time to remember that Dorilton Capital bought Williams for $179.5 million, Stroll’s group bought Force India for $117 million, Liberty Media bought F1 for $4.4 billion, and Gene Haas was the last person allowed to start a new team at discounted rates.

24% stake. Yikes, that's a pretty big bite.
Don't know how his liquor brand is doing, but I know he recently sold his Mint Mobile MVNO venture for a mint (pun intended) so he had a lot of money to chuck around.

Welcome to Reynault.

Reynolds and Maximum Effort are marketing plays with equity, rather than pure money plays. Big money loves a face-man to take all of the attention.

Mint Mobile and Aviation Gin were founded and are majority owned by the original founders/investors, with Reynold’s group getting a minority stake. They pump it and the public thinks they are “his”, while the actual money is made by others in relative anonymity.

Same deal with Alpine.

Good interview with Marko. He is his usual unfiltered self.

When asked about the last time he and Horner disagreed on a driver, he mentions de Vries and states “it is looking like Christian was correct”.

Oof.

I can't wait for it in Austin.  Because I'm too poor for a Sunday pass, but I can afford a Saturday pass and still see some racing.

No, the Sunday race and sprint race are two separate events this year.  Friday afternoon qualifying sets the grid for the Sunday race.  Saturday is all Sprint.  Shootout determines grid for the Sprint, and the Sprint is its own race.

That’s a good example of why the Sprint format exists. I’ll complain from the couch, but it does make for a better live show.

RIC in a Red Bull?

I’m curious if they would bring up an AT driver instead since he hasn’t had much seat time.  But I would really enjoy seeing him back in a Red Bull if Perez can’t drive.

I know this is the punchline to an obvious joke, but Ferrari is at least in a position
to strategically challenge with Perez all the way down in P15. The can run two different strats and RBR will
have to pick which one to respond to.

Or ... Max just pulls out a 30 second lead in the first 15 laps and they can do whatever they want. Which is much more likely.

LoL... rules are only for others.

Although he lost time as he had to manoeuvre his way around the Red Bull, Magnussen's lap was later deleted anyway for a track limits infringement.

who gives a crap if the lap counted or not in the end ? impending is impeding. the end result of that very lap doesnt matter

"The Stewards determined from the video (and audio) evidence that Car 20 had clipped the kerb in Turn 1 and that this subsequently caused a slight change in acceleration which in turn resulted in a slightly slower time on the next mini sectors.

The Stewards further determined that Car 20 did not have to take significant evasive action.

"We further note that the fact that the lap time of Car 20 was subsequently deleted (due to exceeding track limits at Turn 10) was irrelevant to this decision. Any incident is always investigated independently of other incidents or penalties."

oh really ? funny how the video shows otherwise

honestly it's a fucking joke. for some the minimal mistake is always punished. for others, that certainly dont need any favor (for how good they are otherwise), its all kosher...

I saw a lot of comments on sites and I didn’t see anyone who thought it would be a penalty.

A whole bunch of “as a Ferrari fan, I would love to see a Ferrari front row, but that isn’t a penalty”.

And to make it clear, i dont give a crap that Verstappen doesnt start P4 sunday, because it wont change a damn thing, and in the end he was fastest on Q3, so the pole is deserved ..  I am just fed up with their selective enforcement of rules. ALL the time and often the same way.

the fact that Verstappen asked if Magnussen was on a fast lap? right after it happened in itself is evidence enough that he knew he had been impeding.
