View Quote Lewis has lost “it”. His move is to dive inside and play chicken or wreck/spin others He did it to Albon and Max (x2) and now Checo just when pushing for top positions. It works to shake the young guys but quite a few don’t flinch. |

Quoted: Maybe. Maybe not. But it'd sure be pretty fun to watch. View Quote They wouldn't let it happen. When Checo started to get close to Max RBR started their usual bullshit; radio silence, getting him to manage his pace etc. The replacement for Max will be from their junior program, whoever that may be. At which point Verstappen will be disposed of like he never mattered, as they have done with all their other drivers. The only exception was Ricciardo, who appeared to have upset RBR management enough that they asked him to come back so they could finish him off properly. |

Quoted: And it's no different from Max's comments in 20/21 about Lewis' car. Put them both in a Haas and neither would be winning races. View Quote At the height of the Schumacher mania people seemed to think he would win in anything. Then he came back in 2010 and was depressingly normal. Everyone expected him to outperform Rosberg but he just looked like he was struggling everywhere. Every star fades in F1. It happened to Senna in '94 (he had not lost speed but was absolutely rocked by Schumacher's sheer pace), then Schumacher should not have come back (although some credit him with convincing Mercedes to stop playing at it), Vettel looked like he'd eaten kryptonite in 2014, it will happen to Verstappen too. |

Quoted: Webber most likely folded in 2010 because he had a broken shoulder that he hid from the team during the last few races of the season. View Quote I remember he had cryogenic therapy on that injury, it was cutting-edge stuff at the time. He had a very odd 2011, completely unable to get to grips with the blown-diffuser car. A little better the following year, but he was basically done as a championship contender. I liked Webber, he's a great sportsman and a good bloke. |

I would also add 1990, 1991, and 1986, just for the madness of the turbo era and the rise of so many greats; Senna, Prost, Mansell. 1983 for the first year of the flat-bottomed regs (which we had all the way until 1995, where the 50mm stepped floor was introduced), for its recovery from the nightmare of 1982, the last year of the DFV (McLaren and Williams still ran it) and Watson and Lauda still kicking it hard in their sunset years. 2005 for the oddity of no tyre changes, but also to see just how bad the dirty air problem was. Some good races nevertheless. Also last year of the V10 if that matters to you. |

Quoted: I rewatched the sprint from the onboard cameras and noticed a few things. With the only practice washed out, the teams were clueless on setup. Verstappen reported back right after the SC, “yeah, this car is quick”. Everybody else was porpoising to one degree or another (as they had to guess on ride height) and that was with fuel for only 15 laps. The full fuel loads tomorrow will be interesting. Eau Rouge is already smeared yellow with plank skid marks. I wouldn’t be shocked if a few teams had plank legality issues after the race. View Quote On the issue of plank legality. The Ferrari fall from form vs. the previous year is a textbook example of how quickly things can change. Wish I could put a poll in a post, but we're trying to decide
on which race to go to in 2024. Spa or Monza? Both are tracks that I really want to experience. I'm leaning a little more towards Monza since I can sorta kinda speak the language, and it has less of a chance of getting rained out. But Spa is, well, Spa. 'Nough said. |
