I used to live by a major shopping mall and next to I-26 in Richland, down a hill, with the only view of the sky was to the north. My little slab-pour foundation house in AL has a four panel glass sliding door facing west. The sunsets are amazing. You're in a great place where you bought. I just hate that it's not as quiet and secluded as it once was. When I was younger, it seemed like forever when you left Huntsvegas before you hit the city limits of your town. Now it all runs together. It all ran together in SC during the 28 years that I lived there. I joke about the greater Irmo-Chapin metroplex, but it became a thing. New Market, AL, and several farmers between Meridianville and Harvest are pulling together to stop Huntsville city's creep northward. I'm probably helping out with that effort here soon. |

I know well enough to keep a can of starting fluid in the door panel at all times When my son graduated from Auburn, he "borrowed" (as in, he took it without asking anyone) the school's 6.0 flatbed and race car trailer to bring all of his shit home. When I asked him about getting in trouble, he replied "What are they gonna do, revoke my diploma?" When he rolled into town, he stopper at the local Mapco to fill it up. Without thinking he shut it off, and I ended up having to call a buddy who owns a local wrecker service to drag it to my shop. The next morning it fired up just fine, so he drove it home and unloaded some stuff, then headed back to the shop where again, he had a brain fart and shut it off. Ended up being the next morning before he could leave because of the damn O-rings in the heads. But did you rebuild it? Hell no, he took that POS back to school and actually left it in the parking lot of the shop that did their maintenance. He told his professor that it needed the high pressure oil pump O-rings replaced again. 2004 or 2005? That said, my '07 needs them I don't recall the specifics, but the shop next door to mine is a diesel shop and we walked over to talk to him about it. They make FANTASTIC diesel engines, they're just terrible at making emissions-compliant diesel engines |
