The same person arguing with over half a dozen different people (mostly regulars) among 4+ different fanbases about the same topic at the same time is a lot for this thread. I can only recall seeing it maybe two other times. Come to think of it, in all those times the one person arguing with everyone else has always been you. Just a coincidence I'm sure. |

I’m not going to argue the whole thing again. I laid out my case to my satisfaction. The fact that 4+ people disagree with me about a particular topic is not sufficient to change my mind. And none of it has to do with my original point, which is that Jimmy is hard to trade as of today.

View Quote A good example of why you shouldn’t draft based on talent alone. He was a genetic freak. He was pushing 300 pounds and yet was capable of moving like a LB that weighed 50 pounds less. However, he also was prone to taking plays off, had attitude problems, etc. The red flags where there, but most of the “experts” (and the Cardinals) choose to ignore them because of how talented he was. |

The Greatest and Most Pointless Streak in Sports: 21 Straight NFL Preseason Wins The Baltimore Ravens have won 21 straight exhibition games, dating all the way back to 2016 even as the preseason seems to mean less and less. The 1972 Miami Dolphins, the 1970s Pittsburgh Steelers and the 21st-century New England Patriots have all gone on runs that will live on forever in the annals of NFL history. The present-day Baltimore Ravens have gone on a run that's perhaps even more improbable. It's also meaningless. View Quote |

Seahawks vs Steelers was the most watched preseason game since 2015 (seven years).

Banner was the President of the Eagles for close to two decades and spent some time with Cleveland, Atlanta and ESPN. Has anyone, other than DW and his team, argued that 6 games is appropriate or too harsh? Honestly? I don’t think suspensions for off the field behavior should be a thing. Let the legal system punish any infractions for things unrelated to their employment with the NFL. If their conduct is unbecoming, then fire them. So I say too harsh. I typically am with you, let the justice system handle it, but in this case I can understand the league getting involved. This isn't a DUI or a one off event between a player and a single person, its way more serious. If nothing else the league punishment is "Hey stupid, don't put yourself in this position because even if you get away with it legally (or even the unlikely scenario of being completely innocent) you're poor decisions of seeking out insta-thot masseuses looks bad for all of us." And realistically it's their league so they can decide what's fitting, just like any other employer would. |

Imagine being even a little bit familiar with the NFL and thinking joint practices/camps are a good idea… I forget who was on McAfee the other day, but it was somebody who would know, and I guess from the coaches perspective that joint practices are more useful to them than the preseason games. For everybody else it sounds terrible. I'm not saying fights don't happen at normal practices, but they seem to happen at a much higher rate at joint practices. I can't recall anybody getting seriously injured in a fight whether it's practice or a game. I'm not sure I'd worry about it either. |

Quoted: just like any other employer would. View Quote If I got busted driving drunk in real life, would I have problems at my job? Depends on the job, for some no, for others yes. Since there's a yes, I have no issue with the NFL issuing disciplinary action for DUIs. Do people get in trouble at work for smoking marijuana on their own personal time? Once again it depends on the job and location. For some no, for others yes. Since there's a yes, I have no issue with the NFL issuing disciplinary action (even if I personally think it is dumb and hypocritical). In this instance, would I get in trouble at work if I was very publicly accused of sexually assaulting two dozen women? Hard yes. I would be out of a job that day. So again, no issue with the NFL issuing disciplinary action. |
