And this is why player's need to be protected from themselves. Dude visited 10 doctors trying to get an okay to play. That in itself is a big issue/warning sign/problem. But then he continued to try and find out if he could play even without a medical clearance. Guy knows he might not ever start again if he sits out even a single game. That's how quickly things could change in the NFL. So he is still trying to get in the game even though 10 doctors told him no already... View Quote It has to be more than just one fractured rib. Also I'm guessing the "10 doctors" is an exaggeration. TBH, even going to 5 would be pointless. No doctor is going against the medical opinion of 4+ other qualified doctors without some extremely strong evidence. On top of that, I bet doctors are extra cautious about clearing NFL players to compete after that Coach Kilmer fiasco with the Dolphins. |

Quoted: Apple has been the frontrunner in the new streaming NFL Sunday Ticket negotiations, but it has been apparently delayed again and may extend on into 2023. The cost of the service is a huge sticking point. Reportedly, Apple would like to include the Sunday Ticket package for ALL Apple TV+ subscribers ($6.99 a month). The NFL is not happy and says it needs to "protect the interests" of the NFL, CBS, FOX and other broadcast partners (basically it would be so cheap no one would bother with CBS/FOX/etc). This model still likes Rodgers. Kind of. Here's the thread where this came from: https://twitter.com/KevinCole___/status/1603841742804901888 View Quote Brady has a -31.4 EPA adjustment on INTs. Russell is second closest with -21.0. Brady is a more than 10.0 point outlier from the 2nd highest negative INT adjustment. Stafford has the highest positive adjustment with +11.7. Mills has the 2nd highest positive adjustment with +0.9. Stafford is a more than 10.0 point outlier from the 2nd highest positive INT adjustment. Both Brady and Stafford are a solid 50% higher/lower than the total adjustment spectrum of the remaining players (21.9 points). That is either a phenomenal coincidence, or there's an issue with the algorithm they created. As of last month Brady had the 6th lowest "turnover worthy play" percentage in the NFL, which was highlighted by his 399 attempts without an INT, so I'm struggling to see how his EPA adjustment could be so extreme to the negative side. Edit: Stafford has the 7th highest INT%, tied with Mac Jones, they both have 8 total INTs. Mac Jones ended up with a -8.7 while Stafford has a +11.7 (20.4 point difference). Hurts is the only player with a lower INT% in the NFL than Tom (0.8% vs 0.9%). Hurts ended up with a 0.0 neutral adjustment (31.4 point difference). Double Edit: Brady's On Target% is 9th best in the NFL. Higher than Mahomes by 5 places, yet Mahomes had a -20.0 vs Brady's -31.4 (11.4 point difference). I can't for the life of me find where they are basing this reportedly insane interception luck they are accrediting Brady with. Meanwhile Stafford is 19th for OnTgt% with the 10th highest Bad Throw%, yet they rewarded him with the highest EPA adjustment saying he has the worst interception luck in the NFL by an entire 10 points over 2nd place?... |

I'm not sure how he arrived at that value with Brady. Maybe he's grading TWPs differently than PFF, and maybe he's looking at things like tipped passes or plays negated by penalty different. I do know Brady has had some lucky breaks this season including one game where three passes hit defenders and they didn't come down with it. Do I think Brady should have a negative value in the INT column? Yes. Does -31.4 EPA seem like the value I'd expect? No. But there might also be some situational importance to when his TWPs may have happened or whatever. |
